Know Your Inspector

Mitchell J. Kuffa, Jr.

 

If, perchance you hire a large company to perform your inspection you may get one of many inspectors. Obviously, some will be better qualified then others.

All of our inspections are preformed by Mitchell J. Kuffa, Jr. His credentials include:

-         Has been in construction industry since 1967

-         Has personally been involved in building approx 3,500 residential dwellings, nursing home facilities, clinics, retail spaces, etc.

-         Has been a licensed Michigan builder in good standing since 1977.

-         Currently teaches construction related classes (at community colleges and misc. school districts throughout Michigan.)

-         Has been a representative for the Michigan circuit court system in construction related litigation.

-         Has been approved by the Michigan Department of Labor to teach continuing educational classes to municipality code officials, appraisers, and realtors.

-         Has been performing private inspections since 1981.

-         Has contracts with State of Michigan entities, (since 1983) to inspect group homes for the handicapped.

-         Is an expert witness (in reference to construction litigation) for U.A.W. legal services.

-         Has been on numerous talk and call-in radio shows (WHLS, WPHM, WCAR, and WJR).

-         Has acted as a Superintendent of Construction, General Superintendent and Construction Manager on numerous, major construction sites throughout Southeast Michigan.

-         Has co-produced 2 videos for home buyers (which have been reviewed and recommended by the Detroit News, Ladies Home Journal, and Midwest Living Magazine).

-         Has performed  in excess of 15,000 private home inspections.

-         In a member of the National Association of Home Inspectors.

-         In an approved FHA/HUD fee inspector and 203-K mortgage consultant.

-         Teaches home inspector seminars that are approved by the ASHI and NAHI for continuing education credits.

*On very large buildings, multiple housing, commercial or light industrial inspections we may be accompanied by one of our “associates.” These people are usually architects, engineers, licensed mechanical trades, ect. that we feel are necessary additional experts. There presence is at our discretion and at no additional charge to you.
