MathARTS

Provides 2 years of sustained professional development for sixth grade teachers.
- Aims to deepen teachers' content knowledge of algebra for mathematics teaching.
- Addresses Michigan's Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE).
- Focuses on algebraic reasoning.
MathARTS was funded by a Michigan Department of Education, Title II, Part A, Improving Teacher
Quality grant. Applications were accepted and participants were chosen in Fall, 2005. The project will continue through Summer, 2007, and will include monthly workshops and summer institutes.
