& Di Meyer, Mike & Val Phimister, Josie Solseng, and Robby Thran
Hank Cramer followed
with great interest the reconstruction of USS Constellation, visiting
her in drydock and giving a shanty concert aboard her after she
reopened to visitors. Noting the lack of recorded music in the
souvenier shop, he volunteered to make a CD especially for the
Constellation.
Back at home in Winthrop,
Washington, he gathered a dozen musician friends to help with the
project. The went into the studio in January and February of
2003, and, by May they had it ready.
As the official "band" of
the USS Constellation, they make yearly treks to Baltimore, as well as
appearances at maritime festivals on the west coast, including the
Tall Ships Festival in Victoria BC where their music was featured on a
DVD of that festival. That DVD is now included with the
Constellation's Crew second album, "Back to Sea".
