OK. So you still agree that Theodore Roosevelt was right and the Progressives were unmanly. Maybe so. But there are plenty of reasons to not go to war or accept what you hear in the daily news by reporters who don't have the time, interest, historical and political background and interest to question what they hear. This is a good place to begin getting a different view.
They are a tad too academic. If you can get past that weakness, there are some good things to be said.
Some of their correspondents seem more interested in bashing the "left" than in questioning the "right." Left or right, what we need is a good look at the truth. Start here.
Lewis Lantham, editor of Harpers, has the best way of cutting through the bull shit of Bush and other politicians. Read nothing else from this magazine but his monthly editorial and you will still be greatly informed. Get past the editorials and be made aware of the world as it is, not as FOX, Limbaugh and Michael Powell would like it to be.
A great view on the crap that passes for thought these days.
The best source for information on how the public lands, and our heritage, is being sold down the river to line the pockets of fat cats and others who don't care about anything except dying fat, rich and happy. They'd steal the pennies off the eyes of a dead man if they thought it would fatten up their portfolio.
Self explanatory.
You may think that anyone who complains about the so-called "news" media is an uninformed, long-haired hippy radial. Well, here is a web site put together by reporters. And what they have to say will chill you to the bone. Yup. That's right. FOX news isn't news. And no matter how many sweaters Dan Rather wears, he is still not to be trusted.
We are no better than a Cowbird infecting the nest of someone who is truly important. George Bush is not making it any better.
Great leads to headlines and what is really happening with the 5th Estate. Don't go here if you're a FOX News addict. It would be like getting methedone instead of the real thing.
