The month of May consisted of search and acquisition by Trial and error.  I had been watching TR4/TR4A auctions on eBay for some time, and had committed myself to taking the plunge and buying one.  However, never having done this before, the first requirement was a car that was in driving condition.

Late one night returning to Boston from LA, I stopped in the Admiral's club and checked up on TR4 listings.  I found what I thought was the perfect car (based upon the description) within what appeared to be my price range.  However, it would expire while I was on the plane.  So I placed a bid and hopped on the plane.

When I landed, I found that I had won the car to the right for $4,500.  Looks nice right?

After speaking with the owner, I decided it would be best to trailer home rather than to try to drive from NJ to MA.  I rented the Uhaul, hooked it up and drove the 240 miles to South Jersey.  We arrived in the mid day heat, cashier's check in hand only to find that the car was as described (or pictured).  Luckily, the owner was gratious in returning my deposit, and we parted friends.  I was, of course, stuck with the trailer rental, gas and time.  So, my TR4 experience began with a $150 lesson in eBay acquisitions....
