June 2004 - First Repair
| It must have been providence. After buying the car, we drove it
home, 120 miles from Rhode Island to Newburyport. Of course there
was significant vibration and jitter at highway speeds, but with a short
rest at the half way mark the car made it home.
Upon arriving home, I invited my son out for a drive around town.
So, after a 120 mile trip, we added three more miles to the odometer, for
a spin downtown and back. On the return trip, about 1/2 mile from
home, we smelled burning rubber, and saw smoke in the
rearview. After limping home, we opened the bonnet to find our
first repair. The generator mount had broken in two, and a couple of
bolts lost. |

| The first call to Moss went well, and buy the next week, the
mount was replaced, and we were on the road again. Of course the new
mount did require a little persuasion. One of the holes needed
to be widened a bit, and trial and error defined the order of attachment
for the three bolts mounting the bracket to the block. |
