... about me
Hi, my name is Connie. I am a vegetarian who is totally devoted to the welfare of all animals and deeply care for their well being. What sold me on becoming vegetarian, aside from the reality of what becomes of the animals used for food, was a combination of my sister's advice (having been a vegetarian for years) and buying my home 7 years ago. When I noticed there was a pasture behind my home with cows and discovered they were the owners pets, I was convinced this was the time! The cows are my friends now and I became a vegetarian. The cows have also become MY pets too with the neighbors blessings!

... my family
This should be entitled........"My Pet Family"........since my children are grown and left home, my pets are now my family. I adopted 2 small dogs a year apart when they were tiny puppies about 5-6 wks old. Their names are Scruffy and Buddy. Both dogs are really cute ~ sweet dogs even though they're mix breeds ~ since my children have grown my dogs and cats have become my babies.
Scruffy is a yorkie/pek who weighs about 10lbs. His Birth date is October 28, 2000! Scruffy loves to play tug a war with an old sock and do twirls for treats while Buddy tries really hard to twirl but ends up falling over in the process. Scruffy also loves his toys and will fetch them on demand. Buddy is a Auss. silky terri/pooh and weighs about 15lbs. His Birth date is May 25, 2001. He doesn't really care for the dog toys Scruffy likes but instead loves to play with a little fuzzy cat toy. He'll toss it around and fetch it when I tell him to go get his fuzzy. Occasionally Buddy will play tug a war with the sock and both the dogs will tug and tug, it's so cute to watch them play! Buddy also likes to play with his food or treats. He'll toss it up in the air and then bark at it when it comes down, then he'll nudge it with his nose before he eats it. Both dogs like to cuddle with me on the couch and sleep on my bed at night. I adopted 2 cats when they were just babies. Their names are Sassy (she's the oldest) and Rooster (he's closer to Scruffy's age).
Sassy is my 7 year old calico, she loves to curl up in the bathroom sink. She's been mothering Rooster since I adopted him when he was 5 weeks old. My nickname for Sassy is "Beautiful Baby Girl," she loves it when I call her that too. Rooster is my crazy siam/manx he's 5 yr old. He does alot of crazy racing through the house, jumping on top of the frig. and the kitchen cabinets. His nick name is "Mr. Roo." You can see their pictures on my other links too.
I recently took in my son's 2 cats, Cindy and Misty because of a move he had to make and couldn't take them. Cindy took awhile to adjust to the dogs but she's doing ok now. Misty adjusted much faster romping around the house with Rooster. They have alot of fun chasing each other probably because she's a siameese too! That gives me a total of 4 cats now. If my daughter hadn't taken her cat Pookey Bear when she married and moved into her own place, I would have a total of 5 cats.

I love animals and when I see a stray I can't help but take it in until I can find a new home for it. So, I considered opening a shelter for unwanted animals along with my grooming business. I would need donations to set this up so that's why I decided to start a web site. I'm new to web design and didn't really have a clue how to start. I did alot of reseach to help get this going with some difficulties. Any comments or suggestions please feel free to email me!
I wanted to add music to my web site, but I didn't know how to do this? Thanks to the help I received from Bravenet I was able to add my music. Thank You Bravenet!

In the past couple of years I have also become sort of an aquariust obtaining 2 tropical fish aqauriums. I now have a 10 gal with 2 petcos. (algae eaters) and 1 zebra danio. In the 20 gal tank I have 5 neons, 3 black skirt tetras, 3 cory catfish and 1 catfish that was given to me, but I'm not sure what type it is. I went through a lot of trial and error when I started this hobby and lost alot of fish before I ran across someone on the net who knew all about this hobby and literally saved my fish (the ones that were left anyway.) "Update" I now have a 46 gal bowfront tank which I have transfered all my fish to. There's alot more room and the fish are much happier now. I also have 2 Oranda Gold Fish now in my 20 gal tank...

Well, It goes without saying that I love animals. Animals are easier to get along with than some people, as we all know. They are very affectionate and don't argue with you. They appreciate all that you do for them and they are great companions.

... my dislikes 
As most do, I dislike animal cruelty. The dogs that attack other dogs, cats or even people are so often abused by their own owners. People who own an animal should raise them with loving care not beatings. This makes me so angry just thinking about it! So I guess you know how I feel about this subject.
