This section of
my site is my opinion
based on my years of car knowledge. I enjoy reading in depth about
cars and the tests put to them. I'm an official car geek. Show
me a hub cap or tail light lens and I’ll tell you what kind of car it
is.
I also have enjoyed
working as a car electronics installer briefly, and I've witnessed first
hand the “cheapness” built into cars. While taking apart cars I noticed
different ways car manufactures made their products and cut corners.
I made note of plastic sturdiness, quality of fit
and finish, and overall quality.
Based on the above
“experience” you may not believe I have the necessary knowledge. Well
your wrong, I do. I make notice of the things others don't. Run your
finger in the grove between the trunk and the fender in an American
car and you can feel bumps, sharp protruding welds, uneven textures
and so on.
With that said you
will notice my lean toward imported cars. I’m pro American but not whan
it comes to cars. I work hard for my money and I don’t believe just
because I’m American I have to buy American junk. American cars,
when looked at carefully, show many signs of imperfections. This positive
swing tword the imports is evident when looking at the Consumer Reports
reliability section. Turn to the American car pages and notice the pages
turn black. (Black filled circles means “worse”) Conversly turn to a
honda or Toyota section and the pages are all painted red. (red meaning

Overall American cars
have rated poorly compared to there imported counter parts. This is
not to say ALL American cars are poor, it’s just the chances of getting
a bad one are higher. The amount of recalls and problems are higher
on the American cars. I don’t want email saying “ Hey man I got 200,000
miles on my chevette!” I never said it was impossible, it’s just not
as likely as someone with a Tercel or Accord claiming the same.
