Online
gaming has come a long way in a short time. With the advent of
faster modems and different connections available, gaming has
taken on a whole new face. The old days of choppy slow graphics
have been replaced with bouncing bloody heads that roll around
after a body is dismembered. Blood trails and "gibs"
are not the only thing upgraded. Game play has also advanced 10
fold. Games today offer interactive play between players sitting
across the planet. They can talk back and forth, set traps for
other players, build guns, and in general play together. Team
work is always necessary for a winning team.
Quake
was the first real solid and popular game on the scene with amazing
graphics and decent game play. This game has evolved into many
of the games we play today. The most popular these days is Half-Life
Team Fortress. This game offered TEAM game play and unbelievable
graphics. Today as many as 4000 servers can be found on the Internet
running this game.
Half-Life
Team Fortress is
a first person shooter with advanced graphics and a game engine
based on the earlier game "engines". This game throws
you into battle with multiple teammates and different objectives
on different maps. Half-Life
Team Fortress also provides team play in a "class"
system. Each team can pick from a variety of different players.
These "players" are broken down into "classes".
Each class has different capabilities and jobs. Click HERE
for a description.
I run
a Half-Life
Team Fortress clan ( [PqC] ) with about 20 members. Click
HERE to check out our official
clan web page. We play on Tuesday and Sunday nights all year round.
I have a 20 person server running about 8 hours a day and we run
about 30 different maps. HERE I
have compiled a page of what my clan has done on the Internet.
You will find screenshots and some funny "in game" pictures.
