Crackle Glass Bead

German faceted crackle glass. It is dipped into water to cause the beads to crackle; it is then reheated to seal the beads so they won't break. Faceted ones are then cut after this. Photo courtesy of: ~Belle

Dimpled Bead

Dimpled beads - The Germans made many beads with a dimpled surface. They are molded and often given an AB finish. The Japanese made some almost exactly like this. Photo courtesy of: ~Belle

Faceted Bead - German

German faceted beads some with an AB coating. Notice the rounded ends. On the bicone faceted bead, the center forms an equator around the middle. This is a characteristic of German bicones that is not true of Swarovski beads. Photo courtesy of: ~Belle
