"Crumb" Bead

These bits have some pieces of glass (called "frit") applied to their surface. The frit makes the bead appear to have crumbs on it, hence the term "crumb" bead.

Picasso Finish Oval White Bead

Picasso finish on oval white bead. A Picasso finish gives a splotched appearance and nice shiny luster to the bead. It is not part of the glass but a finish on the outside and really old used beads have lost some of their finish. Picasso finish comes in many colors: purple, blue, brown, black, green.
