The three males sit back relaxing as their tail tips sway languidly, all their appetites fully sated for the moment. They watch in bemused contentment while their three truemates chatter happily bustling about cleaning up after everyone had eaten.
The females are comparing their mating marks as they work. And giggling from time to time.
“Females are so enigmatic.” Says the Prince watching Bulma through half lowered eyelids, almost content for the first time since his planet had been destroyed.
“Even in the middle of a conflict, they can find joy and laughter in the simplest tasks. Who can understand them.” Says Raditz shaking his head.
“Don’t need to understand them, just need to keep them happy.” Says Kakarot philosophically.
“And make sure they’re safe and secure while they breed.” Adds the Prince.
Kakarot nudges his brother, “Was it anything like you thought it would be?”
“It was absolutely amazing.” Replies Raditz he gazes raptly at his truemate.
“I want to take on the universe and give it to her as a hair ornament.” Says the youngest Saiyan with a goofy grin as he gazes at his petite mate, listening to her tinkling laughter.
Bulma and Serera are a bit more worldly than the much younger ChiChi, but still just as euphoric in their new relationships.
“I thought I knew what good sex was, but last night was like nothing else I ever experienced before in my life.” Says the red headed firebrand.
“It was my first time, but I knew exactly what to do and so did he.” Says the small dark haired girl shyly.
“That empathic telepathy sure helps.” adds Serera.
“One thing’s for sure we’ll never be able to complain about being unsatisfied in bed!” Chuckles Bulma, then adds with a wink to Serera, “But we gotta promise one thing, okay?” She glances at the pertinent portion of their mates anatomy, “No cracks about tail!”
ChiChi blushes but joins in as the other two dissolve into giggles.
*“No.”* Responds the Prince seriously, *“All we have to give them is security, their world’s safety and freedom. To do that we have to fulfill the prophecy and destroy Frieza and his family!”*
*“But how? We’re not strong enough.”* Responds Kakarot turning serious too.
*“Then we need to find a way to increase our power and strength.”* Sends the Prince, *“Their Shenron whatever, seemed to think we’re capable of doing so, otherwise it wouldn’t have brought us here.”*
*“Then we need to start training rigorously.”* Answers Raditz thought.
*“Agreed.”* Says the Prince.
*“But this planet’s gravity is so low.”* Says the younger brother of his Sibling.
Vegeta glances over at his truemate, *“Mine is a gifted scientist and so apparently is her sire, I am certain one of them can build us something. Maybe a gravity and pressure enhancer of some sort.”*
*“Sounds like a plan!”* Grins Kakarot, as the females finally finish putting up the clean dishes and come to rejoin their mates.
*“And don’t forget why we were coming here originally.”* Warns Vegeta.
Kakarot frowns, *“The Ginyu’s!”*
*“We need to be prepared for their arrival.”* Says Raditz, *“They’ll probably get here before our ships and Nappa can arrive.”*
Bulma comes and settles down next to her Prince, she snuggles in against him as his arm comes up and encircles her shoulders.
ChiChi settles into Kakarot’s lap, as Serera nestles in next to Raditz. Once situated they pick up on their truemates seriousness.
“What’s wrong?” asks Bulma.
“We were discussing the options.” Says Vegeta. “If we’re supposed to get rid of Frieza we need to get stronger and a lot more powerful.”
“So we really need to start training intensely as soon as possible.” Says Kakarot.
“And there’s another thing,” adds Vegeta, “I told you we were coming here before. But not why. The reason was that Frieza’s gotten upset that it’s taking so long to subdue your planet. He’s gotten so angry in fact that he’s sending in the best of his Elite Purging Squads, the Ginyu Force.” He looks in concern at his mate, “With orders to destroy the resistance and take Commander Azure prisoner.”
“The Ginyu Force is made up of some of the strongest fighters Frieza has at his disposal! And rumor has it that they‘re five sadistic bastards.” says Kakarot.
“That have yet to be defeated.” Interjects Raditz.
“But they’ve never faced us either.” Adds the Prince with a rakish smirk. “We were coming after them. One of the things we’ve been doing is taking out purging squads whenever we can catch them.”
“So you think you can take them out, even at five against three?” Asks his truemate.
“I don’t know, in our original plan was there were four of us against five them, with the support of our ships.” Answers the Pirate Prince.
Bulma frowns, “Well you’ll have the support of my troops, I can guarantee that. And I think there’s some people we know that may be able to give you a bit of assistance. Their strength is nothing like yours of course, but they aren’t exactly wimps either.”
ChiChi nods, “Krillian and Tien.”
“And Yamcha.” Adds Serera.
“And Kame’s Fist.” Adds Bulma with a smile. “I think a King and two Jacks, with four wild cards can beat anything Frieza's sets down. Don’t you agree ladies?”
Feminine laughter is her answer.
The Saiyans stare at their mates in puzzlement. The depth of their liege’s bonding is apparent in the way that their new Saiyanna smirks exactly like the Prince.
“What are you talking about?” Asks Vegeta.
“A little game we play here on Earth, called poker. You get dealt a hand of cards and the one with the best hand wins. It’s usually played with five cards but there is a variant called seven card stud!” Then the three women begin to giggle again.
*“And boy are you guys studs!”* Comes the amused broadcast thoughts of their truemates, as the women unabashedly kiss them.
Once that pleasant encounter is over, Bulma turns serious again, “But that means we have to get back to the base. Fun and games are over.” She says regretfully. Then she looks quizzically at her new husband, because that’s what she now considers Vegeta, “I keep getting the impression that you wanted something more. What?”
Vegeta nods confirmation informing her, “We’re used to a far heavier gravity than this planet’s, our own world’s was ten times as stronger than this one and we’ve usually trained in a specially calibrated gravity gym.”
“We need a special training facility, someplace with an adjustable gravity and pressure index.” Explains Kakarot.
“Hmmm!?” Bulma brings her hand to her face and places her forefinger against her cheek curling the rest over her lips, with her thumb along the jaw line quirking her lips sideways as she considers something. “There just might be a place like that right here. I haven‘t been down there for ages.”
Bulma shudders remembering the horror she had found in there and Vegeta’s arm tightens around her comfortingly. “The madman that built this place installed a vacuum pressure zeroG room on the tenth level. He used it for genetic manipulations, because it’s a lot easier to handle delicate RNA sequences when you don’t have to deal with the vagaries of atmosphere and gravity damaging them. It enabled him to actually alter a living person’s entire DNA code. Of course he never used full null pressure, that would have outright killed his subjects, but it was so low to be almost negligible.”
Bulma closes her eyes with tiny sigh of relief, fortunately Jimmy and Jenny had fully recovered.
“Sounds painful,” says Raditz.
Bulma frowns, “It was. He wore a pressure suit while he worked, his victims didn’t! I hate to admit it, but he is one brilliant son-of a bitch!” She says, “But a twisted sadistic monster, with no conscience what so ever.”
“Sounds a lot like Frieza” Comments Raditz.
“What happened to him?” asks Kakarot.
“No one knows, he disappeared during the raid.” says Serera.
“We’ll find him eventually,” Says the Prince’s truemate with a vengeance, “then he’ll pay for the atrocities he committed.” He can sense her righteous fury and it’s strong enough to be worthy of a Saiyan. The more he’s with her the more he respects her.
Bulma gets up, “Let’s go down and check it out. Since it had to be strong enough to keep the atmospheric pressure out, it just may be strong enough to keep the pressures in.”
She leads them to the elevator activating and accessing it with her palm print. “And if that’s the case all we may have to do is tinker with the gravity and pressure controls.”
As they enter the elevator and it descends through to the other levels. Vegeta notices that his mate’s face has grown grim, he senses that she’d much rather not be going to where they’re headed.
The elevator stops, and they disembark, the lights come up revealing a large dome centered in the cavern.
Bulma’s face is totally neutral looking, belying the turmoil of emotions he can feel emanating from her as she walks over and starts to examine the dome’s outer control panel.
Totally business-like she snaps out orders to her two techs, “Serera, check the dome’s construction specifications. ChiChi go inside and see if anything still has to be removed.”
The Saiyans watch their new truemates as they start to function like the well-oiled team they are, these women weren’t warriors in the usual sense of the word although they could and did fight if they had to. But their most effective weapons were their brilliant minds. Bulma was the driving genius of the trio, but the other two weren’t slackers either. They were not only her friends, but her two top technicians and her personal scientific assistants. These three had labored to develop and perfect the Planetary Defense Shield that has repelled the alien invasion for three years.
“The outer walls are a tri-titanium steel alloy, it looks like he took one of the standard issue Capsule deep ocean mining domes and then re-enforced it again.” Reports Serera when she returns after a few minutes.
“Good, then it should be built strong enough to contain high interior pressures.” Replies her boss.
ChiChi emerges, “There’s nothing left inside but those two horrible operating tables. Is that where he was working on the twins?”
“Yeah, I‘d almost forgotten about those.” Bulma purses her lips in anger. “They’re welded to the floor, I just haven’t removed them yet because every time I came down here to do it I got so mad that I couldn‘t see straight. I was afraid I might set the whole place on fire if I tried to use an acetylene torch so I stopped trying and just left everything as it was, hoping they’d just disappear I guess.”
Vegeta looks at his companions, this is actually something he can do for her, “Go take care of it.”
The brothers nod and go inside, there’s the sound of two prolonged blasts then a rending of metal and each one comes out carrying a table with welded on manacles on each narrow end. They set them to off to one side of the cavern.
At the look of distaste on his mate’s Vegeta raises his hand, opens his palm towards the tables and vaporizes them.
His Saiyanna gives him quick glance filled with her eloquent gratitude, “Thank you! I’ve hated those bloody things ever since I first saw them.” Then she turns back to the control panel.
“It looks like it might take us about six hours to modify and reconfigure these controls.” She looks at Vegeta, “How high of a gravity index do you want?”
The Saiyans exchange glances, as they commune telepathically.
*“Vegeta’s gravity was ten times what it is here.”* States Raditz.
*“And we’re used to training in thirty”* Adds Kakarot.
*“If it’s adjustable, we could start as a lower level and increase it every couple of days.”* Says Vegeta.
Bulma’s mate looks at her, inquiringly, “Would it be too difficult to make it adjustable up to 300 gravities?”
“Piece of cake!” She smiles over at her two friends, “Think we can handle one more honeymoon night girls, before we go back?”
Both women grin.
“Good! Serera contact the base and tell them we’ll be delayed for one more day.” Instructs Bulma, “While you do that ChiChi and I will get started!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~In Frieza’s throne room a report arrives. Zarbon receives it. “Sire, Gero’s comparison study is complete. And it’s rather amazing.”
“Well what’s does it say?” Demands the Tyrant.
“It confirms that the Earthlings, Gero uses the term human interchangeably, aren’t Saiyan.”
“We knew that! Get to the point!”
“But the differences are so negligible that with very little tinkering, he claims he could turn any human into a Saiyan!”
“What!!!” Frieza actually leaps from his throne. “Give me that!” He snatches the report and reads it. Muttering half aloud, “Human.... Saiyan.... 99.99% identical sequencing... distinct possibility even more powerful viable hybrids.”
Furious Frieza rips the plasti-sheet to shreds, screaming. “Get me Captain Ginyu’s frequency!”
The comm techs cower as they rush to obey their raving master while even Zarbon and Dodoria back away from Frieza‘s foaming fury.
Finally Ginyu’s signal is located and the comm channel is established. “Yes Master Frieza, what do you desire?”
“Change of orders, I want that planet completely purged! I will not allow any more monkey upstarts in my universe!” Shouts the beastly monster.
“Understood sire, this includes Commander Azure I assume?”
“Yes!....., Wait no. I have other plans for her.” A look of cruelty fills Frieza’s face. “Keep her alive! I’ve decided to join you there. But you and your men may play with her until I arrive, if you want too, just don‘t irreparably damage her ..”
“You are too generous sire. It will be done, Ginyu out.”
Now Zarbon knows it’s even more vital that they find their missing Prince and his two companions and get them to Earth as fast as possible. If that report is correct, then by mating with humans, the Saiyan race could rise again in greater glory. The time of the fulfillment of prophecy is at hand!!
Now if they only knew what the golden that ignites was!?!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Serera comes out from under the control panel. “I got that final contact soldered solid this time.”
Bulma wipes a grease covered hand across her face, unknowingly leaving a dark smudge on her forehead. She flicks the activation switch and the power comes up humming softly.
After an hour or so of watching Vegeta and Raditz had grown bored and taken Kakarot with them to go off to train somewhere outside. The three women could dimly sense their mates mock battles. Wincing from time to time when one of the men took a hard hit.
“I think we’ve finally got it this time.” Says Bulma as she looks over at ChiChi complementing the girl, “That was a brilliant idea to add those two extra generators, it solved the power consumption problem.”
The dark haired self-effacing girl grins blushing a little at the praise.
Bulma instructs, “Put the test gauge inside and we’ll fire it up.” The younger tech places the gauge where they can read it easily through the window, it has two hands one to measure atmospheric pressure and one to measure gravity.
When ChiChi comes back out she carefully seals the door. “All set boss, let her rip.”
Bulma grins, “Now we’ll see if our wedding present for our husbands works!” She starts turning the dial up, they watch as the needles climb. 50...75...100 ...125...150... 200.. 250.. 300.. 400.. 500!”
When it reaches maximum and remains steady she grins at her assistants, “I think they’ll be satisfied. Don’t you?”
The three women beam, Bulma has always tried to do one better than requested and as usual, she’s succeeded again.
Just then ChiChi’s stomach growls. She giggles, “I think the guys’ll be back soon, that wasn’t me it was him.”
“Then we’d better get cracking,” says Serera, “cause I’m not anxious to see a really hungry Saiyan!”
“That’s for sure, I’ve never seen anyone eat that much in one sitting before!” Says ChiChi.
Bulma grins, “They certainly have healthy appetites that’s for sure.”
ChiChi reaches up and swipes a fingertip across Bulma’s smudge, “I think you two should grab a quick shower,” as she shows it to Bulma. “While I start the cooking dinner, then you two can finish fixing it while I clean-up.”
“Deal.” The other two agree and they all head back up to the main level.
*“Hey, are you guys getting hungry too?”* Sends Kakarot as he dodges a blast from his brother.
Raditz answers while he avoids a beam from his Royal Sibling, *“You’re always hungry, little brother.”*
*“I can’t help it if I’m still a growing boy!”* Grins Kakarot, raising his hand to scratch the back of his head as he maneuvers to position the Prince between himself and his brother.
*“If that were really the case you should be as big as this planet, bonehead.”* Sends Vegeta drolly.
The two brothers suddenly send double blasts at their leader.
Vegeta strengthens his aura and deflects the twin blasts, then adds, *“Alright Kakarot, we’ll head back. It’s been about five of their hours, our mates should be done by now. You are such a slave to your stomach!”*
They chuckle and soar skywards, heading back to the retreat.
When they arrive at the entrance of the hidden cavern, they find Serera waiting with the door open.
“Bulma remembered just in time that your palm prints aren’t on the access file yet. You would’ve been stuck outside!”
“No we wouldn’t.” Smirks the Prince, “but there wouldn’t have been a door left to secure afterwards.”
Serera grins, as she slips under Raditz’s left arm snuggling close to him. “You’re probably right.”
The four go inside to join the others.
Bulma and Chichi have just finished setting the table. If it hadn’t been made of metal it would have been groaning under the weight of all the food. The three women had learned rather quickly just how huge Saiyan appetites were. This time they were ready, they hoped.
Six chairs surround the table, the three Saiyans are greeted by the delicious smells. Bulma and ChiChi, quickly embrace their mates.
“After we eat, we’ll show you what we’ve accomplished.” Says ChiChi enthusiastically.
“You got it finished.” States Vegeta.
“Yup, I think you’ll be satisfied with the results.” Smirks Bulma at her Prince.
After finishing their meal (of course with no leftovers!) Bulma, ChiChi and Serera lead their mates back down to the tenth level.
The Saiyans are impressed by their new mates accomplishments.
Vegeta and the other two watch in wonderment as the women explain the functions of the gravity chamber.
Bulma leads her mate inside. The others follow, she shows them the secondary control panel that they installed so the training warriors can adjust the settings without having to emerge.
“For now you’ll just have to train against each other, but ChiChi had an excellent idea and we’ll start working on it once we get back to base.” Bulma grins at her youngest assistant. “She suggested we design some training drones with variable power settings.”
Kakarot hugs his mate with pride. “Beautiful and smart too!”
“And now for the surprise!” She leads them back outside, saying as Serera closes and seals the chamber, “You asked for three hundred gravities? How about five!”
Reaching over she flips on the power, and with a flick of the wrist turns the dial all the way up.
“WOW!” says Kakarot as the gauges register the promised gravities with matching pressure.
“Woman,” Says the Prince with a wicked grin of pride, “you are indeed worthy to be the Saiyanna.”
Bulma tosses her head, “What do you expect from a genius.”
The Prince smirks at his mate in approval, then he turns to his companions. “We will start training at once...”
Bulma places a hand on his arm restraining him. “No wait, I need to scan and record all three of your palm prints first. ChiChi, Serera and mine are on record for accessing the retreat.” She smiles, “Once yours are entered into the computer files you won’t need one of us to be here to get you inside.”
Vegeta nods.
The six return to the main level and the retreat’s central computer console. Once there Bulma quickly scans the three Saiyan’s palm prints and enters them into the access file. As it confirms the three Saiyan’s security listing, a schematic of the retreat flashes on the screen logging and confirming each level’s clearance for their security access.
“Now you can come here to train whenever you want.” She grins, “It’s a shame that Gero anchored that chamber to the cavern floor. We can’t capsulate it any more without destroying it. But now that we do know how to modify an ocean mining dome, we can eventually convert three more, so each of you can have a portable one. But till then you’ll just have to come back here to train.”
Vegeta starts to get a thoughtful look, something has occurred to him. The retreat looks to be extensive, almost as big as the Nest. He knows that he and his two Saiyan companions have found a place here, a new home with their mates. But what of all the others that owe him allegiance, he cannot honorably abandon them, they have pledged their loyalty to him as the Black Phoenix, and he in turn pledged to them that he would find them a new home. He wonders if it would be possible for the rest of his people to come here? He places his hand on her shoulder.
*“Bulma we need to discuss something.”* He looks down at her with a serious look in his dark eyes.
Sensing his earnestness she nods.
She hears his thoughts as Vegeta sends to his companions, *“I need to speak privately with my truemate. Take yours and go occupy yourselves.”*
Kakarot and Raditz’s eyes both brighten. They would much rather have this private time with their new truemates than start training again.
“I’m done with you two and it’s getting too late to head out for the base. I think we can indulge ourselves,” She grins at her two assistants, “work’s done today, honeymoon’s started again! You guys go spend some private time. But it’ll be back to work tomorrow!”
The other two couples eagerly depart, leaving Vegeta and Bulma alone in the computer room.
“I have another request.” He says broaching the subject that‘s troubling him. “I am responsible for the well being of nearly 300 beings. They are the personnel that man my ships and my space station.”
He starts to pace, she can sense his concern. “Many of them are like us, they are the last living members of their species. Their homes and worlds were destroyed or decimated by Frieza or one of his clan. They no longer have a place to call their own except what I have given them. I pledged that one day I would find them a new place, a world that they could call home.”
He looks at her with longing, “As much as I want to claim your home as mine, until I can offer them one, I cannot accept any for myself.”
Bulma has been listening to him, and she’s elated when he tells her he wants to call Earth his new home, but understanding his loyalty to his people.
“I am not rescinding my pledge of protection,” he continues, “I will honor my promise to you, to defend your home. And it is now Kakarot and Raditz’s, so no matter what happens they will settle here remaining with their own truemates. But unless my other people are welcomed I cannot in honor stay.”
He looks at her, hoping against hope, “Is it, do you think it’s might be possible, for them to be able to find a place here.”
She understand his quandary completely, she feels exactly the same loyalty towards her own command. As he explains his problem, her mind begins to calculate the odds.
“I can’t promise you anything, but I can talk to King Furry.” She answers slowly, “Explain your request to him, he’s a very sympathetic and understanding leader. I’m certain he’ll grant them asylum at least, but they may have to work to earn their citizenship.”
Vegeta smiles in relief, just the possibility of a place for his people is enough for him now.
Then Bulma gives him an even greater gift, one he had never expected as he had made his request. She rises and goes to him, slipping into his arms, “But if something happens and they aren’t allowed to settle here. Once Earth is safe, Vegeta I promise I will go where ever you go.” She looks into his eyes pledging her love to him. “You are my truemate! I will not abandon you.”
He holds her close, his tail twines about their waists, linking them as one, he’s pleased and elated by the depth of their bond.
She offers her lips to his and the kiss seals their souls. He lifts her in his arms and they retreat to her bedroom there to reaffirm their union. He roars joyously.
Once their females are fast asleep, the Prince signals his two companions, *“Raditz, Kakarot, meet me in the gravity chamber!”*
*“Sure thing!”* Answers Kakarot always eager to test his strength.
Raditz responds, *“As you command Highness.”*
They all feel Kakarot’s mental amusement, *“Hey bro, why so formal all of the sudden.”*
Raditz chides him, *“Our Liege Lord now has his Saiyanna, and soon she shall carry his heir. We must recall the respect that is owed them as our monarchs.”*
*“Reserve your reverence for the Saiyanna. You know until the Frigid Empire and Frieza are destroyed I have vowed to be merely ‘Geta the Black Phoenix!”* says their Prince.
*“As you command.”* chorus the other two Saiyan’s thoughts.
*“Now that that’s settled can we go train?”* Asks Kakarot plaintively.
The next morning they depart the retreat. The men take up the same positions as before, escorting and guarding their mates’ conveyance as they head for the Blue Ribbon Army’s new command base.
Bulma is pensive, and thoughtful as she pilots the flitter to base. So much has changed so fast. She glances up at ‘Geta as he soars effortlessly above her. He glances down feeling her gaze and gives her that cute smirk of his that she’s already grown to love.
Her heart aches for her new love, deprived of his home and family as a child. Fighting a decades long battle against such incredible odds. No wonder he had appeared so cold and arrogant when she first met him. She now knows that he uses it a defensive shield protecting his heart from any more pain. He’s far more than he seems and she senses that he carries a great burden that he still hasn’t revealed to her. She hopes he’ll soon feel secure enough in her love to tell her what it is.
She glances at her two companions, and smiles. There’s a glow of happiness surrounding them as they watch their truemates flying alongside the air car. Bulma wonders in passing, if her face has that same expression when she watches Vegeta.
As they get closer to the new site of the Blue Ribbon Army’s base. Bulma begins to consider the problem of integrating the Saiyan warriors into her command staff. It would be ideal to make her truemate Supreme Military Commander, his years of experience opposing Frieza's space fleet is exactly what they have needed all along. His knowledge would give them an immediate tactical advantage.
Bulma would gladly hand over to command of the military to the three Saiyans. Thus leaving herself and her assistants finally free to concentrate on the scientific and technical side of the war.
Especially after they had talked last night she realizes as the Black Phoenix, Vegeta’s better equipped for that kind of role than she is. He has fought and directed the kind of battles that they really need to attempt if they ever hope to attain a decisive victory against the would be invaders.
Up till now she has led Earth’s forces in a strictly defensive action, as the inventor of the planetary defense shield. She’d been unsure of how to mount a truly offensive planet bound space battle. Once her mate’s small fleet arrives he’d be able to better coordinate their forces for such an offensive if he was the Commander.
But she knows there’d be resistance to such a move on her part. Even the idea of letting an alien try to give any kind orders to the Terran forces will be resented.
The Saiyans will have to work to earn the trust of the wary planetary forces.
There will definitely be difficulties both personal, and in general. It’s only because of the unique events of the past two days, that she and her two lieutenants have no doubt in their mates true intentions. Their telepathic and empathic link has many advantages including making it impossible for any of them to lie or deceive each other. But convincing the rest of her staff and the army may prove a much bigger problem.
Especially one certain member, she thinks ruefully as she spots Yamcha waiting by the landing pad as the air car settles to the ground.
Vegeta and the other two Saiyans land, positioning themselves protectively around the vehicle like an honor guard as it settles to the ground. The three Saiyans are glaring warningly at the small group of people that is starting to gather in welcome. Especially the masculine members of the group.
The three Saiyans are still territorially defensive of their new truemates and there are entirely too many strange males gathering about the air car for their general comfort.
*“Remember their customs are not ours.”* Prompts Vegeta even as he restrains his own protective instincts, including a desire to growl at that male named Yamcha who is crowding in far too close to the vehicle for the Prince‘s tastes.
*“Okay, ‘Geta.”* Says Kakarot gruffly, attempting to relax.
Raditz only grunts an acknowledgement as he continues to glare at the growing crowd.
Even before they disembark Bulma and the other two women can empathically sense their mates unrest. So as soon as they emerge from the car they move close enough for physical contact with their mates. To reassure them with their presence and through the telepathic bond. As Bulma moves to speak to her troops, Vegeta comes and stand guard directly behind her, one hand resting possessively on her shoulder.
Yamcha puzzled by the strange actions, he frowns noticing Bulma’s actually seems to be leaning back against the alien leader. He asks, “Hey what’s going on?” As he starts towards her.
But he pauses when he sees the one behind her glaring at him as if he wants to rip his head off.
*“Warn him back.”* Comes Vegeta's quick thought as Yamcha starts to come closer.
“Yamcha don’t.” She raises her hand to stop him in his tracks.
“I’ll explain the entire situation to the senior staff shortly,” says Commander Azure to him curtly, “but for now all you need to know is that our negotiations were successful, they have agreed to help us fight Frieza.”
Yamcha and the others grin. They had all seen these men in battle and had all been very impressed with their abilities.
Captain Blue starts to come closer to get any orders from his commander, but pauses as a low rumble comes from Vegeta.
*”Sorry.”* Comes the swift thought from her mate. *“Instinct.”*
Bulma glances reassuringly at her military orderly, then tells him, “Don’t worry, Captain. The Phoenix was just warning you.”
She looks up at the gathering personnel, and decides the best time is the present. Taking a deep breath she starts, “I imagine that by now rumors are rift on base about new allies. They are true, we have found someone willing to join us in the fight against Frieza.”
*“’Geta, how much can I reveal?”* She asks her mate.
*“You can tell them about my fleet, but do not reveal we are Saiyan. We are just rebel pirates and I am the Black Phoenix.”* Answers Vegeta, *“Frieza has spies everywhere. I know for certain, one human traitor has joined him.”*
She continues speaking. “And though it is true that they too are aliens, like our attackers. They also bear grievances against Frieza. So they have agreed to join forces with us. With their allegiance we will also soon gain a small but effective Space Fleet.”
A cheer erupts at her revelation.
She glances over at her two assistants, and their truemates. “There will be more announcements to follow as needed, but there is one more factor that everyone needs to be aware of. In the course of obtaining their aid, myself and my two assistants have entered into a personal agreement with our new allies. One that secures their aid and assistance for Earth, permanently. It has awakened their protective instincts, a kind of territoriality in regards to Earth.” She pauses to let the concept sink in.
“But as a side effect of this arrangement is that they are extremely protective in regards to the three of us. It is part of the species specific arousal of their instinctive territoriality. So for the time being, for your safety, I am requesting that you use restraint when approaching us whenever they are around.”
She feels ‘Geta’s hand tighten reflexively on her shoulder, then hears his prompting thought, *“Limit eye contact.”* He is still glaring defensively at Yamcha. *“Direct stares are considered overt challenges for possession of the female.”*
She flashes sense of gratitude back to him. “In such situations it will be best to make any approach with lowered gaze, no direct eye contact with us or them, until they are reassured of your intentions.” She shoots a sharp look at Yamcha herself, and he lowers his gaze in sudden realization that he’s doing exactly what she’s warning against.
With Yamcha’s compliance, Bulma feels an immediate relaxation of Vegeta’s tension.
Then Bulma is startled to hear Kakarot’s thoughts, *“Our defensive possessiveness will only last for a couple of your weeks. Once our instincts have been reassured by prolonged social contact they will subside.”*
“This is merely a temporary situation, so your cooperation will be greatly appreciated, by myself, my assistants and our new allies.”
The muttering crowd quickly disperses, except for Yamcha and Captain Blue.
Yamcha is eyeing the three couples quizzically, “Ok just what kind of deal did you make with these guys?” Already half suspecting to answer.
“I’ll explain all the details later, Yamcha. During the staff meeting, for now just do as I’ve requested.” She gives him a beseeching look, her old lover glances at the dangerous looking man beside her then nods and backs off.
Bulma turns to Blue who’s been waiting patiently off to one side. “Notify the rest of the senior staff. There will be a tactical meeting with our new allies in one hour in the main conference room. There’s some very important preparations that need to be made, so have someone try to contact Piccolo, we‘re going to need him too.”
Even though the Fist has a comm link, he doesn’t always use it. His excuse being it’s ring is painful for his ears.
“Also one more thing, have the technical staff start making these conversions on four deep ocean mining dome capsules. Top Priority!” Bulma hands him the notes that she and the other two had complied during the work they had done the day before. “And type up the warning about our new allies and us to be distributed as soon as possible. We don’t want any avoidable incidents.”
Bulma turns to her mate and the others, “Let‘s go.” She leads the way to her private quarters and office suite in the Command Center.
Once they and their truemates have retreated and are settled in her office, Bulma leans back against the front of her desk and looks over at Vegeta who is propped against the wall arms crossed against his chest. “This Ginyu Force you told us about, do you have any idea when they could be arriving?”
Vegeta thinks for a couple of minutes, “Our source got us the information very quickly, a couple hours after they got their orders to come here. But I’m not real sure where they were when they received them and neither was any of our other sources. The time frame could be anything from as soon as three weeks to as long as three months from now.”
“Are you sure of your contact’s reliability?” Asks ChiChi who’s seated close to her mate.
“As certain as if it came from myself.” Says Raditz gruffly as he stands behind Serera’s chair, arms crossed, “he’s a relative.”
Serera frowns, “And when do you think your ships will be getting here?”
“In about five weeks.” Answers Kakarot.
“So as worst we’ve got a couple weeks to prepare for their attack, at best three months.” Says Bulma, then she asks, “And we could have spaces ships at our disposal or not depending on the arrival time frame. Is there anything else we should know?”
*“’Geta, we gotta tell them about the Oozura transformation.”* Sends Kakarot. *“That moon of theirs is waxing larger every day.”*
*“I plan to, Kakarot.”* Says the Prince, *“I’m just waiting for the right moment.”*
Bulma notices the silent exchange, she’s already become that sensitive to her truemate moods and actions. “Ok what are you two discussing?”
“Wha--” is startled out of Kakarot as he glances over at her in surprise.
Vegeta just smirks with pride at his truemate perceptiveness. He broadcasts to the other two Saiyans, *“It seems our secrets will no longer be just our own, at least when they‘re around.”*
He extends his open hand to Bulma in invitation. “Come here, my Saiyanna.”
She hearing the title she knows something important is about to happen so she moves into his arms, they encircle her protectively. With a nod he indicates for the other two to touch their mates as well.
Kakarot pulls ChiChi into his lap and Raditz places his hand on his mate’s shoulder.
*“Can you all hear me now?”* Comes his amused thoughts.
The three women’s eyes widen, they had understood the concept of telepathy with their mates. Sort of, but now they realize that they can hear Vegeta’s thoughts as well.
*“It’s like networking with your computers.”* Grins Kakarot. *“You should be able to hear all our thoughts, as long as we are all touching.”*
*“They are brothers,”* Vegeta looks at his two heart-friend companions, “While Raditz is my Sibling, which links me through him to Kakarot, to whom I am also blood bonded. That allows us to communicate telepathically just as easily as speaking aloud. As our truemates,”* Vegeta reaches up and lovingly stokes Bulma’s mating mark, *“you have been bonded to us too. Sensitizing you to our thoughts, and that makes you able to hear all three of us when we are conferencing, and as long as we are in physical contact with you, you should even be able to hear each other.”*
*“ChiChi? Serera?”* Thinks Bulma testing it, and the two women nod confirming that they do ‘hear’ her.
*“This is fantastic!”* Sends Serera.
*“It’s to bad it only works when we’re touching.”* Sends Bulma.
*“There’s a reason I’m demonstrating it this way.”* Broadcasts the Prince, *“We have one other... talent. And I want you to understand it completely.”*
A vision of a four giant apes fill their minds, *“These are Oozuras, I want you to know that they will never harm you.”* The vision alters and the apes start to shrink, transforming back into the shapes of their three mates and another older bald Saiyan.
*“Whenever we see a full moon, the brutz wave radiation causes a Saiyan to change into this form. That was the danger I warned you about, if it occurred while one of us had been in the grip of the mating imperative, we would have lost all control and become rampaging beasts.”* He looks at them reassuringly, *“But now that we have bonded the danger is past. We will still transform but we will be in intelligent control of ourselves. It is a great tactical advantage.”*
Bulma cuddles closer, *“I can see it would be, so you’re were-monkeys, huh!”*
*“We consider monkeys a derogatory term, we prefer ape.”* Sends Raditz.
Kakarot looks at her in puzzlement *“What’s Were?”*
*“It means you transform under a full moon.”* Sends ChiChi. *“Transformers and Were aren’t common but we’ve got a few on staff,”* she glances at Serera. *“Usually though Were only change into big cats or wolves. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of a giant ape form.”*
Serera‘s thought chuckles as she looks up affectionately at her mate, *“I think might have been fun to be able to play Fay Wray to your King Kong, Raditz.”* Serera shrugs, *“Won’t happen though, cause I’m Were too. A Werewolf.”* She gazes up at her mate, *“I hope you like canines.”*
Serera grins, *“How would you like it, ChiChi?”*
*“Uhoh, someone better warn the Empire State Building.”* Giggles ChiChi.
*“Do you know what they mean.”* Broadcasts Kakarot plaintively looking mystified.
Bulma suppresses her own laughter, *“They’re being silly, it’s an old science fiction movie about a giant ape and a woman he’s in love with. But I think that’s enough jokes for now,”* continues Bulma, *“we do have other problems at the moment.”*
*”You are correct, my Saiyanna,”* sends Raditz respectfully. *“our enemies are coming and we must be ready for them whenever they arrive.”*
*“That other Oozura the older Saiyan you showed us, he’s the fourth member of your team huh?”* Asks Bulma.
Vegeta nods, *“His name is Nappa, he’s the one who smuggled the three of us off our homeworld as children before it was destroyed. Nappa raised us as if we were his own offspring. I owe him a great debt.”*
*“And besides that he’s our uncle.”* Says Kakarot.
ChiChi looks puzzled then asks Vegeta curiously. *“Hey what did you mean when you called Raditz your sibling, I thought Kakarot was his brother not you?”*
*“He is, Kakarot and Raditz share their dam that what makes them brothers,”* explains the Prince, *“while Raditz is my royal Sibling because my father the King sired him on her while she served as an allegiance wife for her clan.”*
*“So if Raditz’s father was the King too, why are you a Prince and he isn’t?”* Asks Serera a little peevedly.
*“The Saiyanna, the King’s truemate, is the only female that can give birth to the Royal Heir.”* Says her mate consolingly.
They all look over at Bulma.
*“The Saiyanna.”* The other two girls grin at their friend and the blue haired girl blushes.
There’s a beep from Bulma’s desk, that distracts them. She goes to the desk and activates the intercom. Captain Blue’s voice comes through informing them, “The staff is starting to arrive for the meeting, Commander. And Kame’s Fist is on the way here.”
“Thank you, Blue. We’ll be there shortly.” Answers Bulma. “Well girls are we ready for the revelation?”
Serera shrugs, “Now or later we have to tell them the whole story sometime. You’re the one that has the biggest problem. Yamcha’s always felt like you were unofficially his girl.”
“He may have thought that and I admit years ago it might have been true, before we were attacked. But time has passed and things have changed.” She moves back into Vegeta’s arms. *“Now we’re just really good friends.”*
