You can also use other head-forming green vegetables, like head lettuce and Napa cabbage. The sauce hides the cabbage flavor and makes it sweet. Oysters are filter-feeders and are sensitive to pollution. Many farms have had to shut down because pollution running off from the land destroys their harvest. Because wild populations are over-fished, oysters are usually farm-raised, which is good for the environment. The method used to catch wild-caught oysters seriously destroys ocean bottom habitat.
Ingredients:
Vegetable oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 head green cabbage, cubed or shredded
3 Tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp ground pepper
1 Tbsp soy sauce
Fry the garlic until light brown, stirring frequently. Add cabbage and saute until cooked. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until well blended.
