My interest in flutes began in 1997. I was living in Chicago at the time and listened to a lot of college radio. Listening one day, I was deeply moved by the sounds of a Native American flute player. Since I had experience building things, working with wood and a life long interest in music, it became my mission to learn how to make this beautiful sounding instrument. One year later, I received a call from my brother in Colorado...his roommate was an experienced Native American flute maker. What are the chances of that? It didn't take me long to decide to pack my belongings and move to Colorado.
Since then I have been a bit obsessed with flutes, their physics and the whats and whys behind flute making.
Below are models of my flutes: Native American and Irish flute styles. Woods used are cedar, walnut, white pine, poplar or bamboo. The Irish style flutes are actually made of PVC plastic.
If you are interested in purchasing a flute, I am open to making one custom for you. Prices are affordable, send me an email.
