Example Play

There are 4 players.  The players draw Touga, Saionji, Utena and Nanami.
Touga gets goal card 25, Saionji gets goal card 25, Utena ca choose between goal cards 20, 21 and 26.  She selects 20.  Nanami gets goal card 24.
A card is drawn for the  default Victor and it is Miki.
All players draw three cards from the Action pile.  Roll of the dice makes Nanami go first.

Nanami-rolls 2.  She decides to challenge Miki.
Nanami and Miki arrange cards at the arena.  Miki is placed in the Victor box.  Other players do not want to be spectators.  Nanami puts +3 focus on thrust and +1 on parry.  She writes down "rose" for hit location and places it face down in the Hit box.  One player will assume the role of Miki.  Miki puts +2 focus on parry,  thrust and initiative.  He writes down "rose"  for hit location.
Nanami rolls a 5 and Miki rolls a 2.  Nanami's initiative is 5+0=5 (she has no focus points in initiative) and Miki's is 2+2=4, so Nanami  goes first.
Nanami rolls a 3 and uses card #108.  Her thrust skill is 5, so her attack is 5+3+2+3=13.
Miki rolls a 4.  His thrust skill is 7, so his defend is 7+2+4=13.
Since the attack = defend, their swords lock.
Nanami rolls 4 and Miki rolls 5.  Nanami's lock is 4+4=8 while Miki's is 5+5=10.  So Miki wins the lock and may attack first in the next phase.
However, Nanami decids to use her second attack (her advantage).  She rolls a 5, so her attack is 5+3+3=11.  Before Miki rolls, Nanami uses card #102.  Miki rolls a 3, so he defends at 7+2-2+3=10.  Since attack > defend, Miki's rose is cut.

Nanami-How could you of all people, defend such a bothersome girl?
Miki-I must protect my shining thing.
Nanami-I will not tolerate anything that stands between me and my brother!

She charges in.  Miki, almost caught off guard, manages to lock her sword, and deftly pushes her away.  But not before she pulls out her concealed dagger and slashes wildly at his chest.  He reels back to avoid the strike, but it is too late.  As he looks up into the sky, it rains blue petals.
Miki-Himemiya-sempai... when will I have it back?  When?
The Bells ring, and Nanami swaggers away in Victory.
Nanami gets goal card #22 and Nobility +1.   To end her turn, Nanami draws an Action card.

Touga is to her right, so he goes next.  He rolls a 6.  He picks a card from the Event pile and shows it to everyone.  It is #201.  Quickly, Saionji shows #43.  Because he was the first to respond, Saionji gets Nobility +1.  Since the Victor is Nanami, and Nanami and Touga can't duel, Touga just takes an Action card.

Saionji is to his right, so he rolls a 3.  He gives action card 31 to Nanami.  "Take it and meet me at the arena."
Nanami-Ugh!  Why you...

Touga decides to be a spectator and places his card in the spectator box.  Due to card 31, Nanami only has 3 focus points, and 3 Stamina.
Nanami puts +3 focus on thrust.  She writes down "arm" for hit location and places it face down in the Hit box.   Saionji  puts +2  on thrust and +3 on initiative, and writes "rose" for the hit.
Nanami rolls a 4, and Saionji rolls a 5, so his initiative is 3+5=8.
Saionji attacks with a roll of 3, so his attack is 7+2+3=12.  Nanami defends with a roll of 2, so her defend is 4+1+2=7.  She loses her rose.  The Bells ring.  Nanami uses card #106, and the duel continues.  Nanami's stamina is now 2 and Saionji's is 6.
Nanami puts +3 focus on initiative and +1 on thrust.   Saionji puts +5 on initiative.  He puts "sword" as hit location. Nanami rolls 6 while Saionji, 2. Nanami goes first since she has 3+6=9, versus Saionji's 5+2=7.  Nanami rolls a 5 for attack, so she has 5+1+5=11.  Saionji rolls a 3, for a defend of 7+3=10.  Since she hits his arm, Saionji losses 11-10=1 stamina.  Saionji also loses 1 focus point.  Nanami uses her second attack with a roll of 4, for an attack of 5+1+4=10.  Saionji rolls a 4 for a defend of 7+4=11.  She misses.
Nanami puts +3 focus on initiative and +1 on thrust.   Saionji puts +4 on initiative and +1 on parry.  He writes "hand" for hit location.  Nanami rolls 1 while Saionji, 4, so Saionji goes first with 4+4=8.  Saionji rolls a 3 and attacks with 7+3=10.  Nanami rolls a 2 for a defend of 4+2=6.
Touga uses card 105, and stops the attack meant for Nanami.
The duel ends with Saionji as Victor with Nobility +1 and goal card 24.  Saionji's Stamina is 6 and his focus is 4 due to the wound.    Because of card 105, Touga gets Nobility +2, but his Strength and stamina are 5, and his focus is 2.  Saionji draws an action card.

Now, it is Utena's turn.  She rolls a 1.  She draws  event card 202 and plays card 43.  Utena gets Nobility +1.  She decides to challenge Saionji.
Utena puts +4 on initiative and +2 in thrust.  Saionji puts +3 on initiative and +1 in thrust.  Utena and Saionji pick "rose" for the hit.  Utena rolls a 4 while Saionji, a 2.  Utena goes first at 4+4=8.  Utena rolls a 3 and uses card 108 for an attack of 6+2+2+3=13.  Saionji rolls a 4 for a defend of 7+4=11.  Saionji loses his rose and Utena gets Nobility +1 and goal card 25.
