Level 6
State Championships
Our Level 6 team dominated the Level 6 State Championships at Emery
High School hosted by Head Over Heels Gymnastics on November 15-16.
The team took the first place team banner by outscoring other teams
on all events.
Kaitlin Dore was proclaimed the Level 6 State Champ in the 10B
age-group, after capturing a 1st place on bars (8.725) and floor
(9.35), a 2nd place on vault (9.025) and a 3rd place on beam
(9.025). Her all-around score was 36.125. Katie Biddle was the
silver medalist in the same group. Her accomplishments included a
1st place on vault (9.05), a 9.0 on beam and floor. Trina Duarte
brought home a silver medal on vault in her age division and made a
9.1 on floor.
Lena Liu had an extraordinary meet getting the state title with high
marks of 9.45 on vault, 9.125 on bars, 9.075 on beam, and 9.525 on
floor. Of those scores, she was 1st on bars and floor, and 2nd on
vault. Her all-around hit 37.175. Alexandra Buttars was 2nd on bars
with an 8.95, and 3rd on beam with a 9.1, a 9.0 on vault a 9.1 on
floor and completed the meet with a 3rd place 36.15 all-around. Gina
Liu received a silver on beam with a 9.125, a 4th on floor with a
9.275 to finally receive a 5th place all around score.
The icing on the cake came when Lena Liu and Alexandra Buttars were
named to the Level 6 state team, an honor for the top 6 scorers of
the entire championship.
