Rachel and Lyndsi - 2004 State Champion
Rachel,
Lyndsi, and Realyn End Season At The Top at Level 7 States
The Level 7 team culminated their season at the state championships
by turning in three all-around state champions and winning the 2nd
place team banner at Sacramento State University on the weekend of
March 20-21.
Rachel Hatano won the Jr. C group with an all-around score of
37.350. She was 1st on beam with a 9.45 and 2nd on vault (9.15),
bars (9.375), and floor (9.375). In the Jr. B division, Taryn West
was the beam champion with a 9.625 score. She also took a 3rd place
on floor with a 9.35. Victoria Mueller came in 3rd on bars with a
9.15 and was 6th in the all-around with a 36.225.
Junior D competitor Lyndsi Mark, went all the way to the top with
36.725 points. She was also a beam champ with a 9.575 score, and
2nd on floor with a 9.275.
Realyn Corpuz was untouchable in her age group with a 37.95. She was
1st on bars (9.525), beam (9.6), and floor (9.575) and 2nd on vault
(9.25).
In the Senior C division, Kaylee Masatsugu was awarded the silver in
the all-around with a 36.9. She was 3rd on bars (9.4), beam (9.3)
and floor (9.35). Teammate Shenel Harris also scored well with a 3rd
place win in the all-around of 36.775. Shenel was 2nd on bars (9.45)
and floor (9.4). Jenny Manegold finished 5th in the all-around with
a 36.45 and placed 3rd on vault with a 9.175.
Rachel and Realyn were also named to the Level 7 State team.

All members
placed in the top four positions in the all-around with a stream of
high scores. In the Jr. 12 year-old division, Rachel Hatano took the
1st place scoring a 37.075. She was tied 1st on beam with a 9.375
and 3rd on floor with a 9.45, Taryn West followed close by with a
2nd place, 37.025. It was also Taryn who tied 1st on beam with
Rachel. Victoria Mueller placed 4th in the all-around with a 36.775.
She brought home the silver on vault with a 9.475. In the Jr. 13
year-old group, Lyndsi Mark showed them what she could do with a
37.5 all-around. She was 1st on beam (9.45) and floor (9.475), 2nd
on vault (9.525), and 3rd on bars (9.05).
Kaylee Masatsugu reached a personal best of 38.05 in the all-around
and obviously won the Sr. 14+ category. She captured 1st on vault
with an awesome 9.6, and beam with a 9.45. She was 2nd on bars with
a 9.4, and tied 2nd with a 9.6 on floor. Realyn Corpuz won the
silver AA with a 37.8. Her exceptional bar routine won with a 9.625
she also placed 3rd on vault with a 9.525 and beam with a 9.075.
Jenny Manegold tied Kaylee for 1st place on vault with a 9.6, had a
nice floor score of 9.4 and brought home the bronze in the AA with a
37.15. Shenel Harris was 2nd on beam with a 9.1, 2nd on floor with a
9.6, and 3rd on vault with a 9.525. She was the 4th place AA winner
with a 37.025. Yes, it was burgundy and silver all over the podium,
and yes, they swept all events.

It was Lyndsi Mark's turn to shine on
the podium with a 1st place AA of 36.525. Her graceful beam routine
got the highest honors with a 9.375. Rachel Hatano was 3rd in the
AA with a 36.125, taking the 1st place on vault (9.325) and 3rd
places on bars, beam, and floor. Taryn West registered 1st on floor
with a nice 9.325. Victoria Mueller received the silver on vault
with a 9.25 and floor with a 9.225. Realyn Corpuz won in impressive
fashion in the senior group taking 1st in vault (9.25), bars (9.3)
and beam (9.2) and 2nd on floor (9.375) for her 1st place in the AA
of 37.125. Kaylee Masatsugu was 2nd in line with a 36.025 AA She was
2nd on vault with a 9.2, and 3rd on bars (8.95) and floor (9.275).
Shenel Harris had the best floor routine of the day with a 9.5. Her
2nd place tie on vault (9.2) and bars (9.05), helped her place 3rd
in the AA with a 36.0.
National Judges Cup: Realyn Corpuz helped the Nor Cal team with a
1st place, 9.65 on bars, a 9.125 on vault and a 9.15 on floor.
