Starz Invite

Shelby Matsuoka led the Level 9 competitors and scored a 37.1 for the 1st  place all-around. She was 1st on vault with a 9.375, 2nd on floor with a 9.475 and 3rc on beam with a 9.45. Maura Masatsugu came in 2nd with a 36.825. She was the top scorer on beam with a 9.550, and on floor with a 9.5. She was also awarded a silver for her 9.275 on vault. In the Jr. 13-14 division, Jennifer Mueller was 1st on beam (9.475) and floor (9.675). She
finished the meet with a 3rd place AA. Madisyn O'Brien also carpeted, but incurred an injury during the meet. These girls were 2nd in the team competition.

 

Roseville Invitational

The Cal West Level 9 team started the new year with a bang by winning the Roseville Invitational on January 3-4 at the Rosevile Sports Center.
Shelby Matsuoka came in 1st all-around with a 36.1 in the Level 9 session for the 13 & under division. She was 1st on beam with a 9.25. Teammates Maura Masatsugu placed 3rd on vault with a 8.725 while Madisyn O' Brien was 1st on vault with an 8.825 and 3rd on floor with a 9.375. Marissa Umpingco received the gold on bars scoring a high 9.325. In the 14 & 15 year old group, Jennifer Mueller made the highest mark on the beam with a 9.0 and captured the 2nd place spot with a 34.85 in the all-around. As a team, these girls won every event and brought home the coveted 1st place team trophy.
