Daily Routine--Monday and the Rest of the Week

Monday Morning

  1. Arrive at camp no earlier than 8:15 am. Keep in mind that check-in usually takes a little longer on the first day.

  2. Organize into your den grouping. Give each boy his nametag. Boys may not be dropped off at camp unless their leaders are present. The Buddy System should have been set up and explained prior to camp. It begins now.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!

  3. At this time, please send ONE adult leader to the first picnic table to complete the check-in process.  The day camp director will take your attendance. Please be prepared to present all late paperwork (see pre-camp list on first page of this site) and payments at this time.
You can save yourself time and inconvenience by making sure all items are turned in at the pre-camp meeting.

  4. While one adult is checking in, your den guide will meet your group and will give you your den folder with your schedule, a map of the camp, Mondays secret message and other important information.

  5. You may now head to your den site.  Your den guide will help you find your den site. If you bring a wagon, you may take it to your den site in the morning and bring it back over the bridge before or after the closing ceremony.  Please keep it at your den site during camp time.  All parents with junior campers, please keep them with you until after the opening flag ceremony. You may drop them off at their den site after the opening ceremony.

  6. When you get to your den site:
    a) Set up camp:  Hand washing station - water jug, soap in nylon or liquid soap, clothes line for jackets, etc.
    b) Have the boys place their lunches in the cooler.
    c) Reinforce the importance of the buddy system.
    d) Reiterate camp rules and explain your den rules. Post your den rules in the den site.
    e) Take attendance and work on your secret message found in the leader folder.

  7. Watch time and proceed to opening flag ceremony in campfire bowl. Opening begins at 9:25. Allow plenty of travel time to arrive at the campfire bowl on time.

  8. After opening ceremony you are dismissed to your first activity station.  Leaders will be provided with a map to help locate the stations.  The staff will be happy to help with directions, feel free to ask for help.

  9. Lunch can be in your den sites or in the meadow.  Junior campers will be picked up at their den site at this time.  Snacks and cold drinks are available at the trading post.

  10. Daily specials (fun camp-wide shows, demonstrations, etc.) are different each day and are in the campfire bowl unless announced otherwise.  They will begin promptly at 12:30 PM unless announced otherwise.  You must be seated by 12:25 PM so we can start on time.  The trading post will be closed at this time.

  11. Closing ceremonies will take place in the campfire bowl.  Please be prompt.  This will help us dismiss you on time.  Parents pick up junior campers at their den site before closing ceremony.

  12. Each afternoon, make sure that your den site has been left clean and that all gear left behind is secured. Camp Ireland takes no responsibility for lost or missing items.

Daily Routine: the Rest of the Week

Please arrive at camp no earlier than 8:30 AM Tuesday-Thursday, 11 AM on Friday. Den site time will be provided from 9:00 to 9:20 AM Tuesday through Thursday and 11:30 to 11:50 AM on Friday. During this time your den guide will visit with you, make sure you have your den notebook, and assist you in preparing for your day. Please continue to have one adult check in each day and let the camp director know of any attendance changes. Remember, adult leaders must have medical forms on file, and visitors must sign in at the picnic table.

Each day, campers should bring a lunch (snack on Friday), a water bottle and sunscreen.
