A Den Site

A den site will typically have a picnic table and a shelter cover. Some den sites do not have shelter covers. It may be useful to bring a tarp and some rope in case your den site does not have a shelter, so that you can create your own covering for shade and protection from any rain that may occur.

Bring a cooler (with ice each day), a line with clothespins for hanging jackets (if desired), a trash bag for each day. A wagon will help carry the cooler each day, but is not required. A tablecloth is a nice addition for lunches and secret message work.

Create den rules and post in your den site.

Set up a handwashing area to encourage boys to wash hands before meals and other times when needed.
