We're here to help you make camp fun!
The camp staff represents the greatest resource available to your Cub Scouts during their stay. They are selected from Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, Venturers, Explorer Scouts and adult leaders in the Cascade Pacific Council, and other youth organizations. All of the staff is in camp for the sole purpose of helping your pack have a successful camping experience. Camp staff members are responsible for delivering the program at the program/activity stations.
Camp staff members will:
Meet with your den as a den guide, in the morning before opening to help you get settled into your den site and to get to know you. They will need to head back to the campfire bowl before opening, and after opening they will have a station to teach. They will not be spending the whole day with you.
Teach the stations, which are designed to be a mix of quiet and active activities to keep the boys engaged and interested throughout the day.
As an adult leader in camp, we ask that you support the staff by
Helping all campers to be successful. Occasionally there will be one or more Scouts in your group that will need an extra hand grasping a concept, mastering a skill, or dispensing materials at the station. The activity leader may ask you to lend a hand. Don't be afraid to help at any time. It will be much appreciated!
Set the example: Scouts in your den will watch YOU to know when it is okay to talk, laugh, play, and have fun. Your participation will encourage your den to have fun.
PLEASE NOTE: It is our desire to have every station and activity be a mountain top experience. We are realistic, however, and are aware that occasionally things may not go quite as planned. Being enthusiastic and supportive, even at times when your sixth sense tells you that things are not going as they should, is where you can help the most. Your positive attitude is a great way to ensure that your Scouts have a great time. To help us do a better job in the future, we have set up appropriate times and ways to give input on how a station or activity might be improved. You are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities.
