Pie-IX

Pie-IX is the 53rd deepest station in the network and is the 12th busiest.  This station connects to Olympic Stadium and serves the Olympic Park area along with the Viau station.  Even though Montreal hosted the Olympics in 1976, this station is still proud of it (never mind that the city is still in debt from the games!).  Pie-IX has a large kiosk and lots of space for people to walk to get to the platforms.

I don’t think that the station is anything great.  It’s too dark and too brown.  What is interesting about this station is that it was to serve as the southern terminus and transfer point for the proposed Line 6, which appeared on metro maps as the "white line" during much of the 1990s.

Just after the kiosks, this huge area contains the stairs that lead down to the train platforms.
A piece of artwork in the same area as the picture above.
Olympic rings on the train platform.
A view of the train platforms, and the ugly yellow chairs.
The best part of this station would probably be the floor tiling.
The station's name plaque.
