Beaudry

Beaudry is the 4th deepest station in the network and is the 59th busiest.  This station was not opened at the same time as the rest of the first section of the metro. Trains ran through it without stopping until it was ready to be opened about two months after the majority of the stations.

Beaudry is the metro station for the Montreal’s gay village.  This is my station and so of course I love it.  It’s a little bland because the tile colours are extremely boring, but it’s quite well lit.  It also has the only moving sidewalk in the entire network, which is a two-minute trip (I timed it!).  It also has a beautiful entrance with rainbow colours, which is amazing since it shows the government has recognized another part of Montreal’s diversity.

The station's moving sidewalk - view towards the trains.
Moving sidewalk, looking up.
The bridge that connects one direction to the other.  There's water on the right track.
Metro has just arrived and I'm right on time!  You can see through it to the other side, which has the same tunnel thing that leads to the stairs.
Station's name plaque!
Direction Honore-Beaugrand, along with a great view of the moving sidewalk.
Sortie (exit) signs can be found all over the place.  As there is no red line, there's no chance of tourists having difficulty understanding what these signs mean.
