Greetings! This home page relies heavily on data obtain through the Lemont Area Historical Society and review of SS. Cyril & Methodius (traditionally Polish, with records starting in 1884) and St. Alphonsus Catholic Churches (from 1867 and where the Poles worshipped until their church was completed). Like all family trees, it is not complete nor free from errors! Comments and corrections are welcome. An effort has been made to exclude any entries for living people.
The Polish families settled in Lemont, Illinois starting circa 1880 to work in the limestone quarries. The limestone was then shipped via the Illinois & Michigan Canal and/or railroad to be used in the rebuilding of downtown Chicago after the 1871 fire.
Any comments/corrections appreciated. Additional details on descendents who may still be living are not shown.
