This was the neatest place to visit in British Columbia, Canada. It is an actual town with the old buildings located on Highway 26, about 62 miles east of Quesnel. The township was once the center of the Caribou gold-rush and is surround by the mountains in the valley of William Creek.  It is the oldest remaining historic settlement in British Columbia. It shows all the old stores as they were in days gone by. There are also street actors that stop and depict stories from the past. We ate lunch at Wake-Up-Jake's cafe. It was an old time menu and the food was absolutely delicious.

After leaving Barkerville, we headed north to Alaska, stopping in a few places to take photos and visit a museum in Fort Nelson. Click here to continue.
