We replaced some Stairs

in Black Lake this summer.

I would like to extend a huge “Thank you!” to the members of the Capitol City Lions Club for the sturdy and attractive new steps they built for my mobile home entryway.  I am currently living on disability while I am going through cancer treatments and as many of you know, money can be very scarce during this time.  The stairs that were there had become very unsafe and the railings were loose and gave little to no support causing myself and guests to worry of a possible fall and no way to catch oneself-a very dangerous situation.

The new stairs and railings that these nice folks painstakingly measured, planned and so carefully built are wonderful.  They are very sturdy and provide dependable support.  My guests and I no longer need to be concerned of a fall caused by rotting steps and insufficient railings.  Also, I don’t want to embarrass Tony, but he made a special trip to my home on his Saturday off work to fit and nail roofing composite on the stairs preventing slippage caused by the slick conditions due to the unexpected deluge of rain we have been having.  What a blessing!

I am very grateful to the people who have volunteered their time, funds and expertise to provide me with this wonderful blessing.  I wish to thank all of you again.  There is no way I could have done this for myself at this time.

God bless all of you for your care, it is making a large difference in my standard of life at this time.

Sincerely,

Susan M.

(Disclaimer)  Olympia Capitol City Lions is a volunteer organization. One of our community service functions is the construction of wheelchair ramps. This service is intended for physically disabled individuals in the Olympia area who require a wheelchair ramp but are unable to afford the cost of construction.  Being volunteers, we are not professional carpenters. Olympia Capitol City Lions encourage others who want to build ramps in their communities to always research local building codes, construction requirements and building practices before starting your project.
