A Karine Story
A long time ago, in a jungle a BIG elephant blocked a trail to a river and would not let any animals pass unless they were elephants.
Soon, a little lion came walking down the trail to get a drink of water but the BIG elephant would not let the lion pass. So, the lion said, “Please let me pass. I am so thirsty.”
But the BIG elephant stomped it’s foot eight times. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight times. This caused a great earthquake. On the other side of the world the earthquake created the Grand Canyon.
Then a little snake came slithering by the Big elephant. “Oh! BIG elephant please let me slither by,” cried the little snake.
But the Big elephant stomped it’s foot four times. One, two, three, four times. This caused a small earthquake that made a tiny pond.
When the tiny pond was filled with water from the river a hippopotamus came walking down the trail.
“Okay,” said the hippopotamus. “If you don’t let us pass I will move you BIG elephant.” But the hippopotamus was not strong enough to move BIG elephant.
BIG elephant stomped it’s foot three times. One, two, three times. This caused a mud puddle under BIG elephant.
Then came a little elephant down the trail so the BIG elephant let it pass.
Soon after, the little lion, snake and hippopotamus came back to the BIG elephant and pushed him into the mud puddle where he got stuck.
