CarLo Quote of the Moment
Carly: Mmm. This is fabulous.
Lorenzo: Well, I'm glad you're enjoying it.
Carly: Mmm-hmm. Are you going to eat all of that?
Lorenzo:Help yourself...You know, this place used to feel so empty--kind of like the rest of my life.
Carly: I know. I hate eating alone, too.
Lorenzo: It's kind of how loneliness works, isn't it? The little things?
Carly: Mmm.
Lorenzo: A meal, a sunset--how to spend your evening. Carly, before we met I was thinking about going into business with my brother.
Carly:Yeah? What kind of business is that?
Lorenzo: He's a criminal.
Carly: Yeah, right. That's funny.

Featured Story Excerpt - from Truth ~ an EJami fic
“I—don’t know this feeling.”
His usual confidence was missing from his voice. She couldn’t see his face, since he had turned away from her, the bogus “test results” crumpled in one fist. Had his voice cracked?
Never mind that. He was buying it. Why should she care if the fact that he was not her child’s father seemed to hurt him? Devastate him, actually. E.J. Wells—floundering. She hadn’t seen that before. She shook her head slightly. Yes, she had. Before she knew who he really was. He had seemed vulnerable to her then. But it had been an illusion—one he purposefully created. A way to use her to hurt her family.
The tables were turned now, she reminded herself. She had won this round. Now she had to press her advantage. “We are done here”, she finished, not even sure what else she had said as her thoughts raced. “Forever,” she added, when he didn’t respond. “Nothing—nothing will ever connect us again.”
He was facing her now, his expression blank. Blank, dammit. Not hurt. Not lost. He was saying something about what could have been, if he hadn’t been there to save Lucas. She wasn’t going to listen.
Instinctively, she attacked his apparent weakness. Told him that if he had ever cared for her, he should do the right thing.
“And what would that be?”
His voice still sounded strained.
Don’t fall for it, Sami. “That bargain we made on that mountain road never happened”, she said.
Some of the darkness lifted from his face. “That’s all?”
“That is all I want from you”, she insisted.
The lilting hint of Britain crept back into his voice, though he still spoke quietly. “You have my word.” He extended his hand.
