Tandem Tag

Players:           8 or more players; Level 1 and up

Where:            Indoors in a gym or outdoors

Equipment:     Connectors (stretchy fabric cut in long strips—about 5 ft.—1 for each team of two riders, or lengths of rope)

Object:

To tag other riders and at the same time avoid being tagged while riding as a two-person team. Each pair of riders holds one end of a Connector.

Play:

Choose one team to be the Chasers. When everyone has begun riding, the Chasers may begin. They work together to try to tag another team. Once another team is tagged, it becomes the Chaser team and tries to tag any other team except the team that tagged them.  Either rider of the team may tag either rider of another team. Players may only tag or be tagged while on their unis. Riders who dismount must mount again immediately.

Level Adjustments:

Try pairing up riders with the highest level and the beginners working together as a team..

Levels 1, 2 with 8, 9, and 10

Levels 3, 4 with 6 and 7

Level 5 with 5

Or play two or more rounds, limiting teams to certain levels. For example, the first round could include just Level 1, 2, and 3 riders

Comments:

This game was played at Unicon 11.  The stretchy fabric connectors were fun. Some pairs used them to practice pull gliding, too.
