These shots are not SO remarkable, but they are a miracle considering my stupidity.
Tom Kenyon's SRO concert at The Living Room on August 24, 2000 was so packed, I had to load my high-speed film out on the dark porch. I slid in the back door and crawled up to sit on the rug at Tom's feet. I was amazed when the roll kept going past 24 shots. "Must be a 36-er!" I thought, gleefully. You kinda know when you're getting great some great shots, great angles. (By the way, I shoot only between songs.) This was my first try at the 1000 ASA indoor film and was anxious to see the results. I rewound the roll, opened the camera. "100" WHAT!?? "100"... I'd loaded the low speed daylight film. Yep. There in the film bag was the unopened roll of Kodak 1000. Kick myself! I felt absolutely sick not to have captured some of the special -- extraordinary! -- evening on film. However, on a hunch, I decided to develop the film anyway. Well, the film showed some images. I ordered a handful of test prints, and there was enough magic on them to scan and improve on PhotoShop. In a master's hands, they'd probably be even better. Never give up!
(Thanks to Jana at Snappy Photo for encouraging me to keep trying.)
Tom Kenyon is recording his songs, plus an album of hymns. Watch this space for more info.

Notice the painting in the background? It's by Susan's husband, David Densmore. The two faces sort of mirror each other in this shot.
