When I was a ten year old girl, I
developed a life long passion for the flute. I have since devoted my life to
flute performance, and the profession of training young musicians. I believe
that my positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning are vital to every
student’s success. I use personal encouragement and praise to continually
promote student self-confidence and motivation. It is my aim to bring together
flute enthusiasts of all levels in a fun, challenging, and focused environment
for learning. My passionate and dynamic style of teaching meets the individual
needs, desires, and abilities of a wide range of students. I help each student
to build a strong foundation so that they can go on to master new skills. I have
a terrific rapport with my students, their parents, and their school band
directors.
Music-making demonstrates positive
impacts on math, science and reading scores. It also assists in improving
abstract reasoning skills, school attendance, concentration, team participation
ability, self-esteem & confidence, history knowledge, creativity & expression,
self-discipline, audience presentation ability, organizational skills, and many
other skills that relate to the student’s chosen profession.
For myself, music is very powerful to
the spirit. Hence, it is an immense responsibility. It reaches people because it
touches the heart. Through the process of creating music or listening to it,
music becomes a spiritual and healing experience as well. Music never leaves us
where it found us!
