Welcome!
Since 1996, I've enjoyed sharing
information via the Web. That year, I experimented
with the Cartwright Family website, and
taught myself the basics of HTML. The genealogy
research I had done with my wife's uncle seemed to fit the web well. Once posted the
site took off, and today over 5,000 Cartwrights from around the world have visited and
participated.
Soon after I found myself at my newborn son's bed for several nights as he needed minor,
near-routine
surgery. Still, for a new parent, leaving the hospital at the end of the day is not
an option. So I bunkered
there, and with a laptop banged out a website for St. Zepherin Parish in Wayland, MA.
We became
the first parish in the Boston Diocese to go live. Later I formed the St. Z Web
club, involving
teens in the parish. Since 1998, our Youth Ministry has continually breathed new
life into a vibrant site.
Websites can spark terrific rallies. In 1998, I took on the task of raising funds
and restoring
a 50 year old Adirondack club that was showing its age. I determined this would take
a multi-stage,
three year effort, and that all success depended on a very strong start with the members.
Along
with a 12 page, four color brochure, I produced the club's
first website. My goals were to stoke
member enthusiasm for the club and its history, and to raise funds. We closed the
campaign in
the summer of 2001 having acheived 200% of our fundraising goal, and after rebuilding
two large camps, tennis courts, waterfront docks, and installing environmental water
systems.
Webinars, on-line communities, news
broadcasts and more...the one-to-many web is a terrific tool
for communications and outbound marketing. And we haven't even scratched the surface
yet.
I've always enjoyed the marriage of
technology and marketing, both professionally and in my
personal endeavors. I hope these few pages begin to give you an idea of who I am and
what I
do best. And, please...feel free to drop
me a line.
