Tigger
Hi. I am Tigger, although that was not always my name. When I was about nine months old I lived with a lady named Jeanette who was a volunteer for the Hanover Humane Society. At that time I weighed about 9 1/4 pounds, had been neutered and was called "Bucky Jr." She is what they call a cat safehouser. I don't know what that means but she took good care of me. Sometimes she would take me places so  people could see me, with hopes that someone would take me home and love me. On Saturday morning, June 04, 1994, Jeanette took me to the Ashland Strawberry Festival. Their were a lot of cats and dogs there trying to find homes. Later that morning a lady stopped and started talking to and petting the cats in the cage above me. I wanted some attention too so I started to meow and reached through the cage and patted the lady's leg.

She bent down to see me and we started playing through the bars of the cage. Then she took me out and held me and played with me. That was nice. After a while I was put back in my cage. The lady left and I was very sad because I wanted to go home with her. Later I was taken back to the safehouse. On Monday the lady came to Jeanette's house and got me. She took me home and became my new mama. Their I had a big house and yard to  play in, two little dogs that I still like to play with, and plenty of good food. Usually I sleep on mama's bed until she gets home from work. Then I often follow her around the house or sit by her when she watches television. Mama says all 16 pounds of me is spoiled rotten. I guess that is alright. It has worked for me for over 8 1/2 years. I'm sure glad I was adopted and given a nice home.

P. S.
I love to run and play but I can't "bounce" like a "Tigger".
