Jake's
Tale
Hello, my name is Jake and I would like to tell you a little about myself. Although I am not exactly sure of the date, I was born about December 09, 2001. When I was only about eight months old I found myself in a cage at the Hanover County Pound. A few days later the Hanover Humane Society took me in. They promised to find a good, loving home for me. When Friday rolled around I thought it would be just another day, but I was wrong. That afternoon I received a visitor. A man came and played with me for a while. Then I was put back in my cage and the man left. Later that same afternoon he came back with his dog Casey. We sniffed and said "Hello". I liked her right away and wanted to play. She was not so sure about me and definitely did not want to play. She decided I was not so bad and that I could share her home. August 09, 2002 turned out to be a great day for me. Casey and the man adopted me.
In no time at all Casey and I became best friends. Most of the time we stay in the house where it is cool. We also like to go outside where we can run and play in a big fenced back yard. The yard has big trees so most of the yard is covered with shade all day. I like that. The sun sure gets hot and so do I in my black coat. Casey and I share everything. My favorite thing is eating together especially when she lets me have the rest of her dinner when she is finished. I love to eat! Often the man takes us for walks on the road in front of our house and that is fun. Even better is when we go for rides in his car and he takes us to the park. I love that and we get to say "hello" to many other dogs.
The
Hanover Humane Society truly did what they said. They found me a wonderful
home.

Well, I better go. My human wants to go for a walk in the park and I do not want to disappoint him.
