| SYNOPSIS | |
|
2 Acts
The story weaves in and out between the 'real' world of the tavern and
the Storyteller's story, maybe even blurring the lines at times.
| INTRODUCTION | |
In
an age long past in a land so far away from here you could never possibly hope
to get there by walking unless you have very long legs, and even then, you'd probably
be put off by the weather, was a small tavern in a coastal fishing village. The
Tavern is sometimes visited by a person known only as the Storyteller.
He's a strange person who wanders the land telling stories and swapping
news between towns and villages and will occasionally deliver the mail
and a baby or two if there's no doctor around.

I'd like to take a moment and ask visitors to say
a prayer for our troops
everywhere
in the world for a successful mission and a safe return home.
Above is my son Chris who played the Storyteller. After he graduated from
high school, he joined the Army National Guard (3/172nd INF. Mountain) and
recently graduated from boot camp in Georgia and will be deployed to
Afganistan in a few months. We are all proud of him and his fellow troops
and will keep them all and their families in our prayers.
Let Us Never Forget
It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.
It is the VETERAN who salutes the Flag, It is the VETERAN who serves under
the Flag,
ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.
