Champion of Castlemere

Heavy Weapons Champion of Castlemere

Champion of Castlemere - (report by Lady Lilias) It started, as well as I can remember, in March of 1988. The shire was hosting weekly fighter practices at the MOSH to help promote the "Castle Kings and Knights" Exhibit. One Sunday we were told that a TV crew was going to be there, so we played it up for the crowd. I have a picture of me presenting a token to Shaka Ed for being the most Chivalrous fighter. I remember a token being given to the winner, but I do not remember who the winner was.

(report by Kara) Shakka Ed says First Champion of CM was either Billy Reed or a guy named Steve. He said he thinks Billy won it at the MOSH and Steve won it at VFW on Collins Rd.; Tommy Lemmons/Ld. Roland Floydsson won it at Metropolitan Park and Shakka Ed won it at the Sailing Club at Jax NAS. Ed says when Tommy won it there was a cloak, like a Cavalier Cloak that went to the winner. Ed says when he won it, there was the cloak and a glove as the prize. He can't remember who won it after him.
