Dianne Realm's ~ Pets
We are big cat lovers here.
We have several cats hanging around here all the time,
whether they belong to us or not.
~ Shadow ~
March 1992
My first baby was Shadow, I called her my "Angel
Face."
I can't even start to tell you what Shadow meant to me. I had
living alone
for several years and being shy, I was truly very much alone most the time.
Then in 1986 Shadow came to live with me. I inherited her
from my childhood friend, Stacy. She had a lot bunch
of cats and needed to get rid of some or lose her husband.
Shadow was a cat with an attitude.
March 1992
November 1994
And it said, "Don't mess with me!".
Actually she was very sweet and would follow me around from
room to room. That is how she got her name. She would crawl under
the covers at night and sleep with me.
I had her for 12 years. In 1998, she got breast cancer and
passed away.
Please visit her memorial page and sign her guestbook.
~ Gracie ~
Gracie was really Paul's cat. He got her in 1992 shorty after we
started dating.
One day Paul was having a party at his house, and I had gone over
early to help.
As we pulled up in the drive way, we noticed some kids across the street had
some kittens in a box and we went over to see them. Three of the five kittens
were born without tails. Well ,Paul just fell in love with her right away.
And had to have her.
Some of her brothers and sisters ended up being door prizes, for
every one that
came to the party loved Gracie. And had to go over and see the other kittens.
Better watch out Paul!
She was just adorable as a kitten.
April 1992
Boy, it's tough being a cat !!
Gracie never lost the habit of wanting to nurse. Even at 8 years
old, she would
come up to anyone and try to suckle. Arm pits were her favorite.
Caught in the act.
Personally, I don't understand this.
Did it have more flavor?
Gracie passed away very suddenly on March 11, 2000,

~ Dancer ~
Dancer is the baby we have with us now.
She is not quite a year old. I got her as an anniversary
gift for Paul last year, in May 1999.
At first we had a hard time naming her. For many months she was just "The Baby".
She is the only cat I have ever had that did that "Cat Hoppy
Dance" when
she gets scared. When she first discovered mirrors she didn't know what
to make of them. I guess she thought it was another cat.
When she did her Cat Hoppy Dance, Paul and I would laugh until we
cried.
So she soon became "Dancer".
Actually it "Midnight's Mystic Dancer -- the Ankle Biter"
or as Paul likes to call her "Dances with Ankles"
She loves to run through the house, but when she hits the area
rug in the
computer alcove, she pulls on brakes causing the rug to slide on the wood floor into the
kitchen.
No curtain or chair is safe from her. Actually she doesn't claw
the curtains
but she like to crawl under them, thus rearranging them. But the chairs are another matter.
We've been trying hard to brake her of clawing the chairs. Dancer is also a "door
kitty".
She likes to sleep in door ways, generally blocking them.
She has been missing Gracie very much. She worshipped Gracie.
She would sit for hours on end just watching Gracie.
I guess we will have to get another kitten for her soon.
