Catalina 22 Fleet 20 - Most Improved Sailor

The fleet annually presents a perpetual plaque to the Fleet 20 member whose racing performance has improved the most over the past year.

Eligibility

Must be a member in good standing of Fleet 20.

Scoring

A skipper's performance in the SYSCO Spring Series, SYSCO Summer Series, and the CYC Summer Series serves as the basis for determining a winner.

Formula for "Most Improved Sailor"

Y = Count of participants in one event

Z = Finishing position of a sailor in the event

X = The percentage level in the group

X = ( (100/(Y-1) ) *  (Y-Z)

Example:  5 boats and a 2nd place finish

( (100/(5-1) ) * (5-2) = 75

Improvement = (Average X for current year) - (Average X for prior year)
