The Position of Regional Commodore

Function:

The Regional Commodore is responsible for and to the individual members and fleets to coordinate the organized structure of the region. He works to recruit new memberships, and helps form new fleets while sustaining the existing memberships and fleets. He assists in coordinating National Association and local Fleet activities.

Duties:

Respond to all inquiries regarding the potential for fleet formation.

Communicate with all regional fleets encouraging and guiding their activities.

Communicate with all Fleet Captains keeping them advised of all changes at National Association level.

Encourage regattas, cruises, and other social activities at the Regional level of the Association.

Maintain a current accurate list of active fleets, fleet officers, and fleet members.

Help charter new fleets when the specified requirements are met.

Maintain and improve the record systems of this office so that the office may be perpetuated with continuity.

Communicate ideas initiated at local Fleet level to National Association level for consideration and possible action.

Suggested Qualifications:

Catalina 22 owner Member of the National Association at least one (1) year prior to election and participated in Fleet and/or Regional activities. Exhibit leadership qualities and/or present expertise and experience in administration.  Be prepared to give a minimum of one hour a week to the job of Regional Commodore.
