Sheet Winches

As you can see from the pictures on this page, there are many different ways to secure the end of a sheet.  On race rigged boats, it is not uncommon to see the cleat located forward of the winch so the crew can secure the sheet.  New-Style C-22's (built after 1985) don't have the more functional coaming of the earlier boats, so owners typically have fewer options about where they place cleats.
