The Cathedral Children's Choir

The Cathedral Children's Choir is a great way for children to participate in an important ministry and also to learn the essentials of good singing and reading music.
Prerequisite is a healthy voice and a good ear, as well as the ability to read English.

In their weekly rehearsals the children are trained to read music and how to vocalize properly. The choir repertoire includes music from different periods and maintains a balance between traditional and contemporary Catholic music. The children sing in English, Spanish, and Latin. Currently, the choir has 25 to 30 members ranging in age from 8 years to 14 years. The choir sings twice a month at the Sunday 8:30am Mass, as well as on special occasions.

The Children's Choir is under the direction of Dr. Cecilia M. Nam, who holds a Doctoral degree in vocal pedagogy and performance from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Dr. Nam is also Lecturer in Voice at the Metropolitan State College of Denver.

You can reach the Children's Choir Manager, Ms. Alice Nash at 303-316-4240, or leave a message for Dr. Nam under 303-831-7010, ext. 18.
