Prepared by Donna and Dan Caudle, The Caudle Family Heritage Cookbook is a
5 ½
inch x 8 ½ inch
spiral bound book with more than 200 pages. It includes 210 recipes
representing 71 family members. The book contains 75 pictures (45 color
and 30 black & white), and includes several interesting stories
about our
ancestors as well as humorous stories to accompany some of the recipes.
It also contains other miscellaneous items, and possibly a surprise or
two.
This is not your ordinary bookstore
cookbook. This is our
family’s cookbook. It’s a collection of recipes,
pictures, and related stories about our ancestors, parents, aunts,
uncles,
cousins, sisters, brothers, children, and even a couple of in-laws. The
front and back covers are shown below: Some
of the recipes have been passed down through the family for
generations, while
others are new and fresh. There are some interesting and unique recipes
from the past (before cholesterol and triglycerides were a topic of
daily
discussion and concern). Many standard and traditional recipes are
included, some with slight twists, cooks’ secrets, or some added
touches. There are also some modern recipes that are more health
conscious. There
are even some kid-friendly recipes that the younger members of the
family can
have fun with. This cookbook should serve as a helpful resource for the
experienced
cooks as well as the beginners in our family.
Four-hundred four of these cookbooks were
sold. Most prior to Christmas. While there are not books remaining to
sell, it is possible that more books might be printed in the future.
These would be at a higher cost than the first order.
