According to the book Purves (page 18, Raymond Hancock, 1975), Mary Follis was married to Samuel B Whisenant. She was probably the sister of William Follis. Death records in Erath County show that Mary Follis died of tuberculosis. She had two daughters. No connection between the Caudle family and this family has been found. However, Mr. Bullard, ranch foreman for the Flying B ranch and previous owner of the land to the south of the Caudle Cemetery, said her marker was put there in 1970's. An examination of what company put the stone there might lead to a family connection. The 1880 census shows her living.
