This is probably a brother of James Monroe Petty's wife, Sarah Elizabeth Denton. After James' death in 1875, Sarah married Thomas Newton Buchanan. James Monroe Petty was a brother of Celia Jane Petty Caudle and Tennessee Petty Caudle. See the William T.
