ABOUT NORWEGIAN FOREST CATS
Norwegian Forest Cats are a feast for the eyes and nourishment for the soul. They are a healthy natural breed that evolved through "survival of the fittest" in the forests of Norway and other Scandinavian countries. They are known by names such as "skogkatt" (forest cat), "huldrekat" ( wood nymph), "Vikingkatts", "wegies" for short, and sometimes referred to as the "dog-cat" due to their personalities and attachments to their owners being similar to dogs.
Norwegian Forest Cats make wonderful companions. From a personality standpoint they are best known for their intelligence, merry, sweet dispositions, and loving devotion to their owners. They are generally very alert yet calm cats. Known as people oriented cats, it is common for them to greet their owners at the door in welcome sounding their charming sweet trill or chirp. In appearance, they are large-boned, sturdy, and muscular cats that have a regal air about them with their semi-long coat, thick bushy tails, straight profile, ear tufts, a ruff, bib and knickers of fur, darling tufts of fur between their toes and on the bottom of their feet, and frequently tips of fur on their ears known as "lynx tips". Despite the lovely semi-long coat, they require minimal grooming and usually shed very little other than a brief springtime shedding of their thicker winter coat. They make excellent indoor companions.
In 1979, "Wegies" were imported to the United States and have been growing in popularity since that time. To know them is to love them! My cats are registered and are shown in CFA and TICA fancier organizations.

Adopting Kittens
We are a very small cattery and intend to stay that way. Litters are few and far between and when they finally do occur, the mating and birth have been carefully planned and the kittens will be our focus until they go to their new homes. I have made the decision to breed these cats on a selective basis only because I love Norwegian Forest Cats and I want to preserve and improve the breed. We breed for health, temperament and type.
Generally, our kittens may go to their new homes after they are 16 weeks old and only have after they have been neutered or spayed. They are sold pursuant to a contract with strict requirements of the kitten/cat being kept as "indoor only" pets and no declawing of any sort is allowed. These early months in their birth home spent with their fur-mother and littermates are extremely important to the kittens learning proper cat habits and skills, developing a well rounded personality, and learning proper socialization skills, This is necessary so that they will develop into a self confident and happy kitten that will become a wonderful and adored member of your family for many years. I screen potential kitten owners carefully because I will be entrusting them with a kitten that I treasure and love. I want to make sure that the kitten has the most loving, kind, and caring permanent home where he or she will be treasured as a special family member and provided with proper medical care, diet, care, attention and love.

One of our Neutered Domestic Shorthaired Cats. He is a lovable Mr. Lapcat that is always close by waiting for a pat or an ear rub. He LOVES Roskva. They are best buddies.
Two of our beloved Domestic Short Hairs Eowyn (left) our Calico and Gabrielle (right) aka "Gabby" who is my daughter's cuddle cat. These two cats are the ruling matriarchs in our household. Both are very dear and sweet.
