Volume 8, Issue 1 NEWSLETTER February, 2003

Greetings from the President…

If it’s warm outside it must be time for golf! Oh, wait it’s still only February!

Well, we might as well recognize last years Champions.

Club Champion - Joe Dawson
Senior Champion – Charles Pfeil
Player of the Year - John Brewer
Match Play Champion - Rolland Fearn
Match Play Team Champions - Al Coleman & Tom Sanford
Strokers Champion – Ed Gill

And now for the news.

We have lowered the Club dues to $50, this pays for your GHIN handicap and CCMGA membership. Wednesday Strokers dues are also $50 and if you combine the two then you get in for $80. There is an additional fee for each tournament that you enter, see the schedule for details. We have eliminated the two Match Play Qualifiers. If you fill out the Match Play Tournament entry form(see last page) and pay your entry fee then you get to play.

Due to the current economics at the course, all of our tournaments this year will be held in the afternoon and they will all be Tee Time starts. Also, because of internet sign-up capability at the course, we have to end sign-ups 14 days before the tournament.

Please include your e-mail address, we want to communicate any news updates as quickly as possible and remind members about sign-up deadlines for each tournament.

We are expecting a great year of competition in the CCMGA this year. We are changing some of the formats from last year’s schedule so make sure you give each week a good look.

As you can see in this newsletter, the Board of Directors has already been on the job. The schedule for the 2003 season has been discussed with the Coal Creek Tournament directors, Steve Norton and Matt Provo. Approval has come down from the powers that be and we are looking to get underway on April 5th.

This year’s schedule, along with information on the Tuesday Night League, and the Strokers is included in this newsletter. CCMGA membership application, and tournament forms will again be available in the pro shop. One request is that all club, league and tournament entry fees be paid by check only. It is much easier for accounting and documentation. Thanks in advance.

We had great success with our web site last year, thanks to Dave Ewing (2000 Player of the Year). So, don’t forget to check in each week at ccmga.home.mindspring.com to be updated with all the schedules, member information, newsletters, and tournament results. There is also a spot on the application for your e-mail address.

I look forward to seeing familiar faces on the course, new members, and full fields in our events. So for now, Good Luck to all, and Have Fun!

Rolland Fearn
2003 CCMGA President
