WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2009 is the NEXT MEETING

The next meeting is on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in the Fruitville Library meeting room. Our allotted time is from 5:45 to 7:45 PM. and the meeting starts at 6:00 PM. Come early to mingle and show off your fossil finds.

Visitors and guests are always welcome to attend. The Fruitville Library is located at the sw corner of Fruitville and Coburn Roads in Sarasota, Florida, just east of I-75 at exit 210. The entrance is off Coburn Rd.

UPCOMING for the NOVEMBER MEETING

Dean Calamaras will be our speaker for this meeting. Dean, a former member of our club, has recently moved back to the area and has agreed to share some of his experiences with us. He is an avid fossil collector who has found numerous fossils locally here in the Venice area and will have some on display for our viewing.
The fossil "show-off" tables will be set up at the back of the room so bring along your recent fossil finds to show off and discuss.

HIGHLIGHTS from OCTOBER

The possibility of moving our meetings to the G.WIZ Science Museum in Sarasota was discussed and is being looked into. (Browsing the web, I see mention of a $100 fee, which doesn't sound encouraging.) Our luck, or lack there of, held when our scheduled speaker showed up at 7:10. With no speaker, the meeting had broken up early and almost everyone had already left.
