Show-n-Shine

This page is dedicated to Royce Thompson.  As a former member of Circle City Van Club he started vanning with the Pink Floyd van shown in the lower right corner of the picture to the left.  In the summer of 2002, he and his son Rilee completed his new Early Chevy, shown n the lower left corner of the picture and again below.

Vanning won't be the same without Royce's smiling face and always helpful hand.

While at a truck-in there is a couple more activities that many vanners participate in or like to watch.  the first is called "Show-N-Shine" and involves custom show vans.  The second is called a "Bright-N-Shine".  Below are some examples of a Show-N-Shine.  There are so many different things to show you, be sure to visit all the pages about the Van Shows.  Interior, Exterior, Glass Etching, 6-Wheelers, Motors, and Trailers

There are all kinds of Vans and Panels that enter these shows.  All the trucks are put into classes such as: conversion, stock, really wild and custom vans and many more.  Classes depend on the make & model, modifications, and are limited only by the creators imagination.

The van shows are normally located at the truck-in site but on occasion are outside and the public is invited.  When they are public, we convoy to a near-by shopping center or equivalent for the locals to enjoy.  The convoys have been from just a few vans to up to 300 vans.  Occasionally, we have a police escort. Below is an example of a big van convoy and show at the local Wal-Mart in Wisconsin.

There is a great deal of work put into these trucks and all the owners are very proud of what they have created.  Most of the custom vans are built by the owners, thus the saying among vanners, " Custom trucks are built, not bought."  However, they find no fault in buying a custom truck.

The exteriors have many different variations of paint, scenes, and graphics.  Here are a few representation of the many.
