How do you Fight?

1 Sam 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 1 Sam 17:46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

Beloved, when you are in a spiritual battle do you try to win in your own strength? If so you are doomed to defeat from the start. You have three strikes against you before you step up to the plate! Do you try to overcome sin in your life by your own ability? Some tell me they can not get sin out of their life. You can if you will confess it to God and ask Him in sincere prayer to give you victory in this area of your life. Jesus died, shed His blood, to give us forgiveness and victory over all sin. Sin's authority, over you, is broken, if Christ is in you.

Many are in churches all over the world that have not been born again. Some of these have a minister who has never been born again as well. Attending church, being a member of a church, giving in offerings, being baptized in water does not make you a born again Christian. Doing good deeds are commendable but will not get you to heaven. Only a right living relationship, (abiding in Him), with Jesus Christ will do this. Beloved, can you point to a time when you repented and asked Jesus Christ to forgive you and come live His life in you? If not it’s very possible you have never received Christ. Do you know Him or do you just know about Him? Is your relationship with Christ up to date now or have you drifted away?

The only way to overcome, spiritual battles, in this world is through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work. Then we all need His continuing work in and through us. Again, we are taking about an abiding relationship. (Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being.) Beloved, are you abiding in Jesus Christ? If you can't answer that in the positive ask Jesus to forgive you, come into your heart and live His life in and through you. Ask Him to fill you with the same Spirit He had when He walked here before His death. If you do and mean it with all your heart, you will never be the same again! You will be a new creation and the old life will pass away. Many would like to start their life over; this is the way to do it!
