Whenever you are in the need of live music for that special event,
make it the music of GENE MIKRUT.
Gene can provide you with one, three, or five musicians,
all depending on your individual needs.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

ONE MAN UNIT=Excellent for those events when live music is desired, but space or budget does not allow for a band.
Now you can book Gene and have him perform on his new, custom made accordion, a computerized instrument, producing the sounds of organ, saxes, trumpets, piano, strings, and complete drum and rhythm section.
Because of its full sound, Gene Mikrut has been dubbed "THE ONE MAN TRIO".
Capable of providing musical entertainment for up to 200 guests. The one man unit has been the choice of many organizations that have had or are experiencing a decline in membership in recent years.

EXAMPLES OF MUSIC GENE CAN PROVIDE

  1. If dinner music is required, Gene has special dinner music selections which are not repeated during the dance portion of the event.
  2. Big Band music popularized by such bands as Eddie Howard, Russ Morgan, Dick Jurgens, Glenn Miller and Al Morgan.
  3. Latin American, Rhumba, Cha-Cha, Samba, Tango.
  4. Country-Western from the Hank Williams era.
  5. Ethnic=Polish, German, Slovene, Czech, Italian, Ukranian, Croatian.
  6. Audience participation dances=Hokey Pokey, Chicken Dance, Macarena, Achey Breaky Heart.
  7. An assortment of up tempo tunes.

AVAILABLE AT NO EXTRA CHARGE

If desired, tapes of Rock music hits can be played during intermission through our sound system. This seems to satisfy the younger people attending, you have continous music, similar to having a DJ and live music.
No extra charge but you must request this service on the contract.

TWO MAN UNIT=By adding one saxophone you get a sound surpassing any three piece band that you may be currently using.

THREE MAN UNIT=We add a trumpet and truly, there are no words to describe the sound that is achieved.

FOUR MAN UNIT=Drums are added to the three man unit.

FIVE MAN UNIT=Add another sax, you have a five piece band with two saxes, trumpet, drums, and computerized accordion with the musical instrument expander.

PLANNING A POLKAFEST OR OCTOBERFEST?


In 1982 the United Polka Association voted Gene the
favorite accordionist in the polka field.

Gene is one of the few musicians who has appeared on
every ethnic radio station on the Chicago area, as well
as other ethnic radio stations in Wisconsin and Indiana.

Appeared in an ethnic music special on NBC television
show "Chicago Camera" plus numerous appearances on
television station WCIU Channel 26 Chicago.

Because most polka bands specialize in one ethnic style
the Lawrence Welk Resort in Branson Missouri selected
Gene to perform at their polka fest due to his ability
to play polka music for people of many nationalities
and his inclusion of Big Band ballroom style music as
a change in pace for the dancers.
